hey,
well i am hopefully getting a cheap 94gt soon and since i have a 04 3.3l 3mz-fe going into my 91 mr2 i now have a 2k mile vvti 1mz motor just laying around with no home.

with the right mounts i think i can make this a straight bolt in .. only real fun part is wiring which is will not be that bad .. since camry and celica has similar layouts..

here is question .. since 94 GT is auto should i
a) get auto and use v6 tranny
b) convert to 5spd and use solara tranny
c) get really crazy and find a 5 speed auto box and try to make work in celica

i have install a 91 5sfe into a 86 mr2 so this swap will be WAY easier than that ..

just have to make this a budget swap as my 95 GT4 is still my main wallet drainer ..lol

I'd go 5-speed with the Solara tranny...that would be awesome! biggrin.gif

i dont think it would, thats an inline 6 (supra non turbo engine right?), and you'd have to adapt a fwd transmition, you might be able to but it would take a whole lota work

If you want to do that swap you can use the gt or gt-4 tranny it bolts up fine only 2 or 3 bolt dont match up, but it works fine!!!

hey,
3.3l is same a 3.0l v6 found in camry ,etc.. just bored out and longer stroke..5mm bigger piston bore smile.gif

3.3l makes 225hp stock and 240ft lbs tq. i am going to twin turbo using 2 ct-26 or ct 20b's and run low boost for now.. 5-7 psi and will redl later to run a lot higher boost ..

the celica will get 210hp 3.0l .. i have front clip of 95 celica left over from parts car and i am using it to test fit motor..

i am struggling with which tranny to use auto or manual.. car is auto but i can convert .. just more work wiring wise if i go manual ..

so hopefully next year i will have 3.3l mr2 done, v6 st204 , and my 95 gt-4 wrc..

hey,
not to get off swap topic .. but i am leaving to pick up GT4 on tuesday night .. 3700 mile drive in 5 days ..should be fun.. after 14 months of waiting i can finally pick up car i have owned for over a year ..

thanks to a customer who's 95 mr2 turbo i am working on he made trip happen .. guy took off upaid from work next week to go with me ..

i am so busy working on people mr2 and now celicas just never could get time to go ..

anyway i just got 3mz with 2100 miles on it for 550 for basically a long block ..i then had a mint cond 2k mile 1mz extra and i just bought a dirt cheap 94 gt and looking at it swap will not be difficult at all ..so i say why the hell not .. i would think even a 210hp auto celica might be fun . i have done so many mr2 swaps celica swap is easy a cake and much easier to work on ..lol

i can have motor mounted in car in about an hour or less including making pass side mount adapter ..

i will of course have pix and full write up when i get around to it .. GT4 is man project as of next week ..i sure you all understand that one ..lol

drug dealer ..lol .... actually i work in management .. working on financing to open my own shop .. i see so many kids getting ripped off thru shotty work or whatever it just makes me sick.. i do great work and cost a lot less than most ..
i want to own a shop that has a clue and specializes in non honda work ..

oh for mr2, st204 and st205 ... i paid less than 6500 for all 3 cars.. makes me laugh to see cost of st205 on ebay and it is in ok cond.. i am pretty sure my supplier will have his st205 for sale sometime in the next year or less...i think he plans to convert to LHD first ..

as you can see in profile my car needs minor work but real easy to fix..
