but what about with a heavier shift knob? would this make it easier? hypothetically of course..

I guess it could. But its not really anything to worry about. You will feel the difference when you first drive it but you will get used to it so fast it will be all normal again.

SO the TWM is a short throw shifter, not a short shifter...
