i am wondering if possible to make my celica (1998 ss2) rear wheel drive? has anyone tried this? what does it need for the dream to become reality?

is it possiable.. yes..
is it easy .. not as hars as most people think.
is it worth it... only you can answer that question

would i do it.. you can import a gt-4.. so why try it..

the chasis of my celica is same.... or almost same with tufys gt-4... they were side by side at a garage and we compared them. the point is exept of the axle and the "trasmiting axle" what else i might need? it is possible.... but has anyone done it?

There's an RWD 5th Gen with a twin-turbo V8 that actually runs. I agree with macavely on his points. It can be done, but you'd need to do some pretty serious fabrication. More info on the 5th Gen can be found at the following link.

i'd want to do it...if i had 10 grand and the resources......the ONLY drifting celica on the circuit....HELL YEA.....transmission swap to RWD...lower..stiffen suspension...turbo= DRIFTING CELICA oooooo snap D1 here i come lol.....DO THE RWD SWAP and i'll be jealous like none other

It depends on the application, if he is planning on using it for drifting then RWD will be a good/bad idea. The tail end will be pretty hard to control as apposed to a FWD. AWD is a bad idea for a drifting because it will hold to the ground to well. Its almost impossible to kick out the back end in AWD and keep it out there. If its for a racing application then AWD is the way to go. Hole-shots are amazing in AWD cars. They stick to the ground very well.

It sounds like he just wants something original, something that no one has done before. I say, if you have the money, go for it and best of luck.
