it really would be a waste.... you'd need to take out just about everything under the hood, weld new motor mounts, then drop just about everything from the GT in.... unless you can get like a GT clip for real cheap, and are doing the work yourself, its really not worth it.......

and to truly make it a GT, you'd need the rear brakes as well biggrin.gif

yea for an extra 30 hp its not worth all the hassle. you might as well turbo it or swap a 3sgte in if ur gonna swap anyways.

just boost the ST. It'll be easier, more powerful, and just a bit more expensive

yeh but i wanna kno if the block is the same bkuz i kan get the whole top end of the gt for bout 500 bux and i was planin on port and polishing the head bkuz i got a nos wet system that i wanna put in but am afriad ill blow sumthin up in the stok st motor. thats why i wanna make it a gt its a all around better motor if it kan b done. i was lookin at the 3sgte the motor is not that xpensive but the labor is. u have 2 put it in a fwd tranny and the only one that will run very good that i kno is fabricating the mr2 tranny.

dude stick with ur st and turbo it....

to swap a gt in ur car you need :
gt engine and tranny, wiring harness, ecu, 3 motor mounts, new exhuast, axles, and prolly some other stuff i'm not thinking of right now.

Swaps are not easy, so a 3s swap I dont forsee in ur future .

Rebuild ur st motor, work the internals a little. after ur done with that, turbo it or go no2

They're different blocks...

You'll be better off selling the ST and buying a GT. The 5SFE is not neccessarily a better motor by any means. It's just bigger. A nitrious system will work with either car in the same way, assuming you don't over-do it. A port and polish will do nothing for improved durability. It's a performance modification... as for the 3SGTE... a tranny is the least of your worries... the MR2 tranny is a direct replacement (some minor modifications may be needed). Any tranny that came on "S" series motors should hold up quite well under stock 3SGTE boost.

That being said... you should do yourself, and the rest of us here favors by typing like a normal person, instead of that "hip jive"... it's a lot easier on the eyes...

rofl owned. Man all you need is NOS. The ST has bullet proof internals! Go to NAPA and hook up a 200 hundred shot. It should be able to handle that if not TWICE that. Then, when you're next to a dope car, lay it down. Be like, I got "NAWZ" make sure you say it like that. He'll know you want to race. Press the button, and BOOM you're gone. The other drive won't even see you. Like I said, 200 hundred shot on stock internals. 350-400 should be good for upgraded internals. Oh, change the NOS timer a few degrees and you'll be running nine's.
