Well not quite leather but immitation leather and not the whole interior but most of it.
I did the center console (from gear shifter and up) and the driver's side airvent so far and results are excellent. I am doing it dove grey to much my leather seats (two tone Charcoil and Dove grey - check profile). I took some pics but i need to upload them. Next i will be doing the center console (hand brake and back), the sides of the console, the part below the steering wheel and the glove compartment and i am planning to do the lower parts of the doors (Plastic parts) It will be more or less like doggys old interior but his was painted. I have seen something similar on a black 300ZX and it was beatiful. I am taking a lot of pics for the process for a how-to article when iam done. |

its much hotter in Cyprus. But thats why we have airconditioning.
Anyway, the reasons for going through with this are: 1. I already had two tone leather seats and, 2. Due to my GT4 being an accident car, some interior pieces were scratched. I tried to paint the console but i hated the result. Now i am doing it half leather as most luxury cars (New Mercs, BMWs and SAABs) i did some more work on the console last night and even though it was extremely challenging due to the extreme detail on the console (had to remove air vents, clock, emergency light etc but the ugly part was putting the back on) Well when I put it on today i was amazed.I cant wait to continue with it tonight. |

IF you mean the roof, then no. I have a Sunroof and dont want to mess with that. But guys, let me tell you that the console so far was very challenging. I do not expect so much trouble for the rest as the door panels will be removed and their lower part is simple, the glove compartment is straight forward, the sides of the consoles are straight. The part under the steering wheel i haven't really investigate yet. |

you took pics with phone?
By the way, 3 years ago i worked as Car audio installed, so i have a lot of experience working with lether and other stuff (made a lot of door panels for speakers and etc, hade to cover them with leather and etc.) So, i can tell one thing, if you used the right glue for lether it will be ok, but if glue is not so good, after some time on sun (you live in country there hot air is everyday) the leather starts bubling, and it is really really hard to cover everything perfect with leather... There are some types of leather/vinils that i worked with, they are designed for this type of stuff, so you can stretch them in both ways (some leather/vinils can be stretched only one way).. Mad props on this Neaklis, i know how much work is involved in this, hope everything will be ok after some time. -------------------- Ex celica owner - just a guy from other side of the pond...

Good thing that car is never left in the sun. Glue used is supposed to be good for this kind of things and i got a brand new can to be sure the glue is fresh.
You are correct on the fact that this is much more difficult than it shows because the leather used does not bend much so sometimes i had to cut corners. The end result is good though. I will be installing them today on car and take a few more pics. |
