I am being forced to sell my beloved MR2 turbo due to financial reasons. school and debt have really crashed down on me and i dont have the kind of money i was needing to get a car for over the winter and keep the MR2

some quick specs:

~94,000 miles on the body, body is completely streight, not even a ding or dent on it, completely rust free and been garaged every winter of its life.
~8,000 miles on the rebuilt motor, which was dynamically balanced
all records are available from the motor rebuild (done by previous owner)
leather interior (seats worn but everything else is in incredable shape)

modifications:

Engine
.02" overbore with JE forged pistons
TTE headgasket
50 trim compressor wheel on CT-26 turbo
K&N intake
Borla proXS custom catback exhaust (HKS sport exhaust also available)
Magnecor wires

Drivetrain
Fidanza Flywheel
ACT clutch
TRD short shifter
TRD LSD

Suspension
fully adjustable koni shocks
93 Spec springs
16" Speedline MIMS wheels
TRD front and rear sway bars
TRD engine bay braces
stainless steel brake lines
EBC greenstuff brake pads

Exterior
Full ViS racing border style bodykit
BRAND NEW paint job
Erebuni Autopista style spoiler

Interior
Alpine CD/MP3/WMA CD player (basically brand new)
Autometer boost + oil pressure gauges in dual A-pillar
TRD shift knob
Autovation "MR2" pedals

Other goodies
hot pipe, valve cover, IC to TB pipe, TB inlet and X-bar all freshly powdercoated
Viper responder alarm w/ built in turbo timer also available (for extra)
car has always used Mobile 1 full synthetic motor oil
car has been running excellent as long as maintanence is kept up

Maintanence just performed
New OEM spec NGK laser cut spark plugs
oil + filter just changed
K&N filter just cleaned and re oiled (will throw in filter recharger kit)
speed gear assembly just replaced
valve cover gasket just replaced
both serpentine belts just replaced by toyota dealer

Maintanence performed last fall
New brake pads
New rotors
New Kumho 712 tires
new timing belt

11,000 Firm

car is having boost issues as of yesterday. i am going to get it diagnosed, probably needs a new turbo, which will be fixed before sale, car also has a very small oil leak and vac leak, both of which will be fixed before sale.

email me @ k2celica97@aol.com or IM me on AIM @ k2mr2t91

car is located in Clarkston, MI

Tim has put a lot of money into his car. The engine alone is TOTALLY rebuilt...has about 95k on the chassis but has about 3,000 on the engine now i think. Basically its like a brand new engine.

Umm..i think you better look at what they are selling for. MR2's are about like supra's when it comes to resale. OH BTW, Blue book values mean nothing. Check out the three most popular sites: kbb, nada, edmunds and you will see that every site gives a TOTAlly different value for the car...its not just a few dollars..its a few thousand dollars difference. Its not about blue book value...its about how much people are asking and what people are buying for.

KBB is a four letter word on MR2 sites, you say KBB and your credit goes by by lol

i would be more than willing to entertain a trade + cash for an 02 WRX
consynx. can you or your buddy IM me to talk it over a bit? like i said the car has had some boost problems the last few days, but because im looking to sell, i am taking it to the dealership monday to have everything checked out and probably just have them do the repairs. i will keep you guys informed.

11,000 is a very fair price. i bought the car about a year ago for 7500, back then it had a defective CD player, poor paint, and not nearly the attention it has gotten now. ive spent 2000 on paint and bodykit install (which for a bolt on fits nearly flawless) about 700 for the kit itself, 350 for the alpine head unit, about 150 on the gauges, and thats not to mention the countless hours and dollars ive spent on maintanence and repair. ive spent nearly a grand in the last year on maintanence.

EDIT: not to mention the car will most likely have a brand new or completely Toyota certified refurbished turbo when it is sold. that alone will be about 700-1000

found the information reguarding the rebuild from the previous owner, heres some things i missed, these were all done last spring/summer:

ARP Headstuds
Head rebuilt to factory spec
New Toyota Oil and Water pumps
all Toyota gaskets
Balanced/Blueprinted injectors
Rebuilt clutch master and slave cylinders
New Front rotors w/ EBC brake pads
Goodridge SS brakelines

update: after inspecting the boost problem it seems my wastegate actuator bar broke, the bearings seem to be going as well, so instead of having it rebuilt again im going to either be getting a new CT26 with a 62-1 upgrade, or getting a JDM ceramic CT20B turbo. this will be installed on the car before sale and does not effect price

Oh man. Get a WRX...worth every penny and if you can pinch out the extra bit of money needed each month for the STi go for it. I'm thinking about selling all my cars I have now and getting a new STi.

BTW, thread related now, that's an awesome deal for anyone interested in an MR2t. Whata great deal on such an awesomely quick car. You see lots of N/A 90-95 deuces but not many turbo. If I was actually in the mood to look for something else than what I have I'd sell my Clipse and Celi and buy it. Just can't right now as I just got the Clipse a few months back and my Celi is my backup car.

what he said

except

i drove an STI, and sure, it was much faster, and looked better than my 04 wrx, and had a factory shift light that beeped as well, but i dont think that justifies around $10k more.

the thing i didnt like was the gearing in the tranny. too short, but it was much smoother when shifting than my 5spd.

The only reason I was sayoing not worth it is, cause I just found a 91-t .. with 166k for only 3k ..Oh plus another 3k for a badass engine up-grade. then a lil extra for other stuff.. your not near 11k.. but I wish you the best of luck..

this car is more than worth 11k, i dont appriciate the accusation of trying to get more than the car is worth but that is your opinion. this car does not have a single exterior blemish on it, the paint is fresh, the kit has been driven with for one season, the wheels, though worn and used, are VERY rare and quite expensive and could be easily refinished, the interior is in EXCELLENT shape for a 91, the only problem spot is the seats which you could expected from 13 year old leather, but are not nearly in the type of condition i usually see them in. the motor is rebuilt with a mere 8k miles on it, and not to mention the car will be sold most likely with a brand new CT-26 from the dealer. the t-tops are leak free and the t-top shades are in incredable shape. also to the best of my knowledge (i never actually checked EVERY pannel), but it is numbers matching.
