take it to a machine shop. This is one of those things that have to be done by a professional.

ok so it take a pro....
but what is done?
do they just shave the inside of my throttle body?
the very begining of it(where its a circle) or the inside where it turns into the square section?

You don't bore out the throttle body... you replace it with a larger one and bore out the intake manifold... The throttle body unbolts from intake manifold and the manifold itself can be bored out to match the larger throttle body. I'm not sure which throttle bodies fit what application... but I do know 7MG's and such have larger throttle bodies which can possibly be modified to fit...

the 22re is suppose to fit w/ minor work. the 5sfe has a 50mm tb and the 22re has 55mm i believe. I've been reading about this on celica.net.

so we can use the re22 throttle body and minorly modify to fit our intake manifold....but couldn't i just bore it out on my own......i'm figuring out what to use at the moment....but then you could just finish the bore using a cylinder honing device?!

I'm 99.99% sure that's not the case. Perhaps the TB bolt pattern is the same, but all the 5SFE manifolds I've ever seen were a lot different than the 7AFE.

i just want to point out that on celica.net Schmleff actuatly cut off the part of the 5sfe intake manifold where it connects to the tb and replaced it with 22re connecting peace. so im guessing that the TBs dont match up.

Honestly... IMO, some of the things those guys (celica.net n/a power forum regulars) do and/or think they should do, are pointless... worthless... and backwards. Crazy mix'n match stuff... swap stock parts for stock parts... spends hundreds for a stupid mod using stock parts that can potentially cause power losses rather than gains... amougst other random cut-paste ideas. An example... Schmleff's TB upgrade... which he basically builds and welds and adaptor to fit a 22RE throttle body... FYI... if you REALLY want a good EFI intake system... ITB's (Individual throttle bodies) is the ONLY way to go. Considering Schmleff has access to a machine shop (something even I don't have immediate access to)... he can just as easily build an adaptor plate capable of mating 4AG 20V ITB's to the 5SFE and or 7AFE. Instead... he spends a lot of time custom fitting a single throttle body that has no real advantage over the stock one (the stocker is that size for a reason) which will do little for his torque band (might actually lose intake velocity which will cause torque loss)... Kinda backwards if you ask me... but whatever... the readers of that forum seem to really look up to him... rolleyes.gif

Back on topic... Like mentioned above... you'll only need/want to do the throttle body upgrade if your engine is capable of utilizing it (higher compression, forced induction, aggressive cam profile, etc...) Might not even do anything on a stock motor...

Okay well i'm planning on getting higher compression pistons, web-cams, and do some head work(P&P, 3 angle, etc.) so I'm going to do, or hoping to do, a TB upgrade 'cause it would help w/ the setup i'm going after. So this is important information/knowledge to me which i'll need within the next 6 months.
