Finished doing an acoustic/thermal insulation job. Pretty much made inserts out of insulation and vinyl to put behind the side and roof interior panels. As a result, road noise is pretty much gone. Can't comment on the better sound since I simultaneously changed from Aiwa-Stock to Alpine-Eclipse, but I'm sure audio quality has increased.
Still getting some noise from the engine. Any audiophilesout there done anything to reduce this? Stuck some superbright red leds in my dome light. 14 each side. Very nice. Anyone find clever places to stick LEDs either as a useful light source or to walk the fine line between looking cool and not ricey? Made some nice, bright tube lights that will illuminate the floor. This will facilitate drunken entry (by my friends, of course) while not giving headaches (as white lights tend to do when you're drunk). -> easy and fun stuff for anyone with a little money and a little time. Some photos and descriptions up on my site (sig). More to come. -------------------- |

Yeah I did the same thing, but made my dome light switch-able between blue leds, and the stock white blubs. I stuck some 3mm leds between the plastic where it meets the headliner to add a lil extra light on the top. Waiting for my new 6gc to come to figure out where to put more.

Sounds cool...I can't wait to see the pics. Are they a lot brighter than the stock bulbs?

I was thinking you may be able to put some behind the handles in the inside of the doors, or maybe in your console under your cupholder you may be able to have it shining on the shifter. If I get some more money I will prob but some tubes in the map pockets also.
BTW Clipsetuner also put some LEDs in my domelight too, it looks pretty cool. I'd like to see some more pics. |

The LEDs are a lot brighter. It'd hurt to look at if the plastic wasn't there to diffuse the light. Course when the dome is door-triggered there's some sort of external resistance so the LEDs aren't as bright. Still have to figure that one out.
Gonna add whites when I get around to ordering them. Was thinking under dash, in map pockets, and somewhere to light up the cargo area... Maybe in my tire scoops as well -------------------- |
