Hi guys! Yesterday I discovered that during release I leave about 3 feet of blu smoke!!!!!! Tomorrow I'm going to pull off the head and work it completly. I'll raise the CR, make a P&P, work the valve's seat.... I'm also thinking to reprofile my camshafts, but I don't have any idea on which cam duration and lift I should use.... My engine is a 7AFE.....suggest me which duration and lift I should use! Thanks Edoardo |

Yes I know, and maybe it's due to oil filtering the valve guide....but...do you know which values I'd to use for my cams?
Thx |

For my engine I only found one producer of camshafts, Topline that u can find on www.importperformance.com
But I prefer to reprofile my cacms cause I just have 45K miles.... I just like to know if someone can suggest me lift and duration value I can use for intake and exhaust... Thanks for the link!! |

my engine does basically the same thing...mine is burning oil on take off...leaves a nice puff of smoke then it never puffs again really except for the occasional puff on changing gears if i'm running it hard. Instead of putting the money into redoing the engine I just buy a quart of oil around when it gets to the 2,000 marker after an oil change and it usually uses like 1.5 quarts in 3-3500 miles...toyota says this isn't serious oil usage...but heck i do! LOL...but since i have NO money and i can't get enough to redo the engine i'll just keep putting oil in it i guess

It's the same thing I'm doing, but, luckly my best friend is a good mechanic and will work my head, throttle body and intake manifold for no cash!!
I'll have to pay just all gaskets, bearings ecc..... And.....I think that with those mods I'll need a SAFC.... |
