I know that many of you are sick of this question... And so am I. But I have to prove someone wrong.hehehe. So let's say that you are swapping in the 3s-gte and building up the engine to make it more powerful. Which would you rather have.

Also don't think about money because we don't know how much this person has to spend.

Thanks

Matt

Because realistically money isn't an issue, right? And cutting your car up and sacrificing its structural integrity in an experimental conversion has no possible pitfalls? Yeah I wonder what I would do rolleyes.gif

if money wasn't an issue, and you were doing this to a 2nd "project" car, why would you not go for it? it's totally worth it. especially w/ the power of the 3sgte, the FWD drivetrain is completely worthless w/ the amount of power that engine will potentially put out. w/ AWD you will get all the traction and power delivery you need. sure there is a little extra weight, but, the amount of grip you gain is unthinkably worth-while, esp. at the higher HP range.

no contest. AWD.

well I definitely would, it would be a dream come true to have an awd (6th gen) celica. My next car, whatever it ends up being, will not be FWD. I would want it to be a celica (preferably my celica) but unless I get 20 grand out of nowhere, I don't see that happening... and there's no guarantee that the car will hold up under pressure.

Edit: btw, that "view results" link made me vote FWD even though it said "null vote" thumbsdown.gif

Ok guys, nothing is better than having turbo AND AWD. I am a former dsm owner and still current enthusiast, and I miss AWD with every breath in my body. So if money was not an issue, hands down, I would give my left testicle for it... maybe. wink.gif

Do you mean the RB26DETT? Anyways, neither of those engines are going to fit in a Celica without spending tens of thousands of dollars, plus why do either swap when you could have a more powerful, lighter, 3S-GTE?

Anyways, I voted all wheel drive. If money is no object, there's no reason not to go for it.

y put a 2jz engine into a celica when its been proven the 3sgte is a MUCH MUCH more versitile, performance oriented, reliable, AND lightweight engine...

why the hell would Top Secret swap out the 2jz for a 3sgtte AND a R34 skyline RB26DETT in consectutive years? the 3sgte is obviously toyotas flagship performance engine... the 2jz isnt a bad engine at all by any means either.

ANYWAYS:
AWD hands down

Yeah, that's the engine in the Silvia Spec R I believe, and the base Silvias have the SR20DE, same engine but with higher compression and no turbo obviously.

And AWD is SOOOO much fun to drive, however I dont have many complaints about my FWD.
