JUst wanted to know from you guys that have done the swap or are over seas, that are using a Stand Alone ECM along wiht there 3SGTE... and how is performance campared to the stock ECM?

Now I'm kind of curious...if a person were doing a 3S-GTE swap, would wiring be any easier using a standalone EMS compared to using the 3S-GTE's stock ECU? I know there would be extra work in the form of tuning, but I'm not sure if wiring would be much different, and harder or easier.

well i think it might be simpler... but thats jut me... thats why i'm asking.. cause after seeing all the people with swaps on this site.. i'm kinda leaning back towars its... and if i do it... i want go get a stand alone no if ands or buts about it..

i would say that it would be harder.

on the 3sgte ecu...you baiscally have to rewire one plug that goes to it. with the standalone, you would have to rewire all of them, and the get everything tuned to have it running right.

check www.mr2oc.com for more info on standalones. there are a few guys on there that have them.

Standalone will be worth every penny you put into it. If your good with electronics try Megasquirt. If you need to buy a setup look at Tec 3, Augtronic, SDS ect ect.
