I'd love to - can I borrow your GT4? Actually - do they have places there where you can rent GT4's. That would be cool. We have places here where you can rent anything from an original HumV to a Ferrari to a Supra TT. Course it's so expensive I've never actually done it but would be fun. -------------------- |

while a lot of American roads are for the most part straight there are two roads withing 3 miles of my house that are about 30 miles long with only 1/8 mile long straight aways used for passing lanes every 7-10 miles. stock usdm celica handles very well but it does have too much body roll. it needs bigger swaybars, just like my WRX, the rear sway bar is puny on my car. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

my stock body roll isn't bad at all.....just lowered no other suspension upgrades at all.....
but celica cornering vs wrx handling = celica would win.... i took a wrx last night on a left turn exit ramp that was long sweeper.....i was on the outside he/she was on the inside and i flew around him/her |

Agreed - I own on my friend's WRX in the corners all the time. Of course the turbo really makes up for it and he usually comes out on top. Oh well I'll be 3s soon enough. Not done playing with the 5s yet though. BTW - mine just has the Eibach Sportline drop and the stock strut tower brace (had to add it because the '99's didn't get them to improve the ride quality for housewives etc. - my '95 had it and that was the first thing I noticed when I got my new one - really sucks in the corners without one - I have the TRD one also but it gets in the way of sparkplug replacement which I do at least twice a year and it makes almost no difference from the stock one) at the moment. ALL CELICAS handle beautifully when compared to other cars - we are just all spoiled. Let one of your friends drive your car and they will rave about the handling I bet. -------------------- |

as of this moment, my celica ST handles better than my wrx, mainly because the stock tires are so crappy. also, the front sway bar is almost twice as thick as the rear sway bar. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

I don't think so - from what I could tell when we were replacing my friends from a junk yard the 5Th gen bolt pattern is different and is thicker than the 6th gen's. Other than that they looked identical - same bends in the same places etc. -------------------- |

Not necessarily... the bar is thicker cause the car is much heavier... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

nope never seen a place where you can hire gt4s. Although there are rally days where you can drive modified imprezas on the rally track mina in the uk 3 doors are called coupes. the celica is a coupoe as is the 350z. The hyundai tiburon is called the hyundai coupe over here lol. from the toyota website Introducing the Celica Distinctive, sleek and exciting, the Toyota Celica as been designed for those who appreciate quality styling with performance and handling to match. A 2+2 sports coupé - in every sense, it has been specifically engineered to deliver power and stability, together with excellent fuel consumption, a comfortable ride and a surprising amount of space. Whichever of the two engines you choose, you'll be rewarded with a driving experience that's totally satisfying. The Celica - unmistakably individual. £16,645 to £21,145... From the mazda website
and from the vauxhall website:
and the citroen website

ok, back on topic. besides its technically a "latchback"
thats a great time DG, i ran my car yesterday, and when i bogged i ran a 14.5 and a 14.6, when i got a fairly better start at 3K i ran a 14.1, with plenty of room to improve. so looks like we both have great baseline numbers to improve on what kind of problems are you having if any? ive got 4 things that i know will drastically improve my times 1)practice, that was my first time drag racing ever 2)heat soak, if i get a new IC and fab up a heat shield around the turbo that will improve things alot 3) im still runing the factory primary cat and a 2.5" exhaust, i plan on getting a TKO 3" downpipe and dual exhaust. that should open things up big time. 4) tuning, still on the stock computer with no tuning whatsoever... that will change things big time. -------------------- Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them all No but I don't buy it Like anything you do, as anyone you are Cause I'm...
