I was wondering why can't we swap a V6 camry or lexus es300 motor into a 6th gen celica? The 4 cylinder camry and the V6 camry's engine bay's are the same arent they?

Sorry if this sounds stupid I was just wondering why no one has ever talked about it?

someone did do it.. but its such a big motor.. its going to be very tight.. also why bother, the only engine your going to find is eather A:going to be very expenseive an in good condition, or B:going to be very old high miles an beat up.. for a cheaper pric.. not worth it.. get a jdm engine, where they have most likly been treated better with very low miles for a good price. thats also lighter and more powerfuller with more room to grow..

It was sinceli or something like that. He drives a red 5th gen. Look on alltrac.net for better information.

Heh... this is the second time this has been said...

The Camry does utilize a sub-frame design... but the Celica is a unibody...

for the people thah whant to know the V6 sawp into a 6Gen is very simple, the same3S-GTE swap. But the 3S-GTE swap is alot less expensive, the 3S-GTE also makes alot more power. if you have a auto your best bet is to do the V6 sawp, for mor power to the wheels.
-motor
-wire harnese+ ECU
-V6 trani (if you want)
