 What does it take to swap a 4A-GZE into a 94 ST? |

I 1st bought a 94 ST then i fell in love with the Mk1 Mr2 SC but I'm doing an engine swap like so.... 3S-GTE > Mk1 Mr2 SC 4A-GZE > 94 ST. :D

doesn't a 1st gen 4AGZE put out numbers close to a 5SFE? like 140hp/tq. for the 4agze?

3. 4A-GZE - This supercharged, 1.6 liter engine, is used in some first generation Toyota MR2s(Chassis code AW11), and is also used in the AE92('88-'91) and AE101('92-'95) JDM Toyota Corollas. In the oldest versions of the AE92('88 and '89), and the AW11, this engine only produces 145 horsepower. However, in the later versions of the AE92('90 and '91), this engine produces 162 horsepower, and in the AE101 form, this engine produces 167 horsepower. This engine has excellent low end torque, and is generally recommended over the 20 valve 4A-GE for street driving because of this. This engine will swap directly into any Celica with a 7A-FE(USDM ST) because both engines are A-series engines. This engine will bolt right up to your stock USDM ST(AT200) transmission, though the stock tranny may not be able to handle the 4A-GZE's boost very well. It's advised that you simply use the tranny that comes with the 4A-GZE engine.

Not neccesarily. The reason the later models made more power was because their overall compression, and boost levels were increased, not to mention they were also set-up with more efficient systems (MAP sensored, DLI, etc...) In a sense... both motors are nearly identical (in exception to oil squirters and above mentioned) and either or can be made to match the other... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... What you don't seem to understand is that I'm going to have a "free" engine because I'm putting a 3S-GTE in my Mr2 & the engine in my Mr2 is the 4A-GZE so what better use than throw it in my celi? Also it only has 82,000 miles & runs really strong. Can someone please tell me what it takes to put my 4A-GZE in my celi?

oh well in that case go for it, lol, i think someone is or did swap a 4agze into an ST try a search, i'll look though also
