Hey man i am relating to you becuase i have the same mods you do. Ive got a 95 st stick with a intake (i actually cut the tubing off a civic and it fit awsome!) and a 40 shot (wet) of NOS. Well my friend has a 1995 civic with a b16 and he smokes me crazy style off the line man. He runs a 15.3 in the 1/4 mile and i KNOW our cars iare faster than that! I told him mine runs a 14.3 on a good day with good tires. What do u think man? any suggestions? i was thinking maybe taking out the back seats or adding a carbon fiber hood so theres less weight in the front so the engine can rev faster. (o yea, i also have 9mm wires)

You're not gonna break 15's with a 40 shot unfortunately... I've squeezed up to a 75 shot and barely broke high 14's with a lot more mods than what you've listed.

As for weight... the Celica hoods aren't very heavy... maybe like 15 pounds or so only... and the rear seats also weigh next to nothing... a few pounds or so. Weight reduction is not gonna significantly increase the engines revving ability simply because there will not be enough load removed from the motor. Things that will increase engine response are things like an Underdrive pulley or light flywheel because they reduce load directly to the engine... also... weight in the front is better for traction... if you wanna run a pure drag set-up, increase spring rates in the rear (harder springs) and run stock in the front...

Yeap... they're really light compared to say Honda hoods or my Corolla's hoods. I think they're all alluminum... ;]

whats up man unfortunitly i got beat by a b16 wit nos but i think he said his was 75 shot? i dont remmeber though hes prabably beatin you becouse hes got a vtech man those bastards are lucky becouse they rev at like 7 or 8 grand when ours only goes to 6. another thing you kan do(i do this) is when i hooked up my 50 shot i know im gonna get a motor swap so theres no point in puttin in a bored out header(performance header) so i just unbolted the piping after the header and downpipe so im basicly running a striaght header. i could tell a diffrence when i did that and its a little bit better for using the system. and another tip always use 91 octain fuel and go to autozone and get there octainboosters more ocatin u get the less detenation u have the more u can spray wink.gif

the more air and fuel you get into your motor the more hp u will make. the st motor is very slow(sorry guys dont flam me lol) the head and intake design is very restricted in terms of power.im reseraching all kinds of things rite now everyting from 3sgte,4age20v,4agze and im als0 considering putting a 4age head and intake manifold on my 7afe block theres a couple people that did this on the site and they had a nice hp and torque increase.then you can run up to 75 shot on the 7a-ge motor without worrying about blowing up the head if you do it right and use it right.

you told your friend you run 14.3? heh i doubt that. thats what swaped celicas run.

if you guys want a really light hood, get a gt4 hood. its made of aluminum and its crazy light, also vents out most of the hot air from your engine bay.

Man honestly i beet civics all the time, the only one i've lost to is a 99 si, and it wasn't by a whole lot. Either way ya the 14's seem kinda crazy, but just race any way, what do u have to loose? it's all about having a good time smile.gif.

your life? your car? your license?

Racing Civics and Integras is all fun and games sure but you do get into the high speeds so really be careful. I kinda got scared straight, at least for a little racing an RX8 and I spun out. Its different when you race that kinda car or a Supra or a V8 Mustang, your goin 120-140 and its scary, no room for mistakes, let alone someone elses.
