Which B16 are u talking about? The B16A is 160hp 111lbs tq, thats the one I spanked in a hatch. The B16B is 185hp 118ft lbs...which would wipe the floor with an unmodded 3s swap. -------------------- |

hey guys, updates on what i've installed to my 94 GT. i've installed the ground wire system, recieved my brembo rotors, haven't install it yet.. but soon, installed a breather filter and a heel support. i manage to find 2 vendors here in NY, one in manhattan and the other in queens.. gave them my parts list and they're gonna give me a price quote on it... what i'm looking for now are front and rear upper and lower strut braces anyone here happen to know where i'll be able to get it? in person and online.. btw.. i tried the 3000gt V6 yesterday.... though the car's got HP... i don't feel it's fast at all.... don't give me the kick that the celica does....why is that? is it due to it's heavy structure? yea.. i'll be racing a 94 civic hatchback soon... mods on it are, catback, 4 neuspeed strut braces, AEM cold air intake, MSD, DCsports ceramic header.. tat's about it...

yea..the 3sgte that i'm gonna swap is the 3rd generation one... the one with 251 hp and 245 torque, stock? i think that'll be enough to beat a civic.... even a 3000gt with a V6 engine...not twin turbo though..

pictures, we need pictures... sounds like a beast of a st/or gt....
-------------------- the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.

That'll be more than enough to beat his civic. This is the reason I hate a lot of civic owners. My friend works with a dipshiz that owns a civic. He did a customer twin turbo setup and is only running 3lbs of boost (idiot). He says to my friend " I will race you and beat you no matter what you drove today." Guess what? My friend drove his Honda CB900 Motorcycle that runs 12's easy (again idiot) Well, they get to a local highway and my friend SMOKES him. Like off the line he's gone. Stupid stupid stupid. Some people just have no idea how to make a car fast, just how to make it "cool" (although most of the crap they do is far from cool). Your friend sound like my other friend who owns a prelude. With lightened flywheel, full exhaust (header back), cam gears, performance clutch, and upgraded ignition, he barely kept up with me. When we raced it was a tie. Of course with racing we don't go that fast and we only do it in places where no one is around. **** I do not condone Street Racing in any form****
And to answer your shift point question, if I am driving nice and soft I don't go any higher than 3000, thats usually only when the engines cold. Just remember that your engine loves to be in its power band so when you can, open her up and take her up to 5000 or more if you'd like. Just don't do it to often because you will lose serious gas mileage. When racing I go to 5800, I found its where my car gets the best start in the next gear (After I shift my car is in the middle of the power band in the next gear.) |
