i have read that the 3sgte rod well work in the 5sfe , with some mods , something about grinding , but was wondering if they do work cause i want to turbo but i wanna do it right and forged rods cost to much if i dont have to spend that much i dont wanna and i wwould think that the 3sgte rods would be plenty strong

"If you want to increase rod strength I would have the
rod journals on the crank turned down to the same size
than that of the 3S-GTE (1.8898”) and then use a set
of 3SGTE rods."

This is a quote from an email I recived from ChrisK over at www.mr2oc.com

I belive he is right. He ran a 5sfTe setup for a very long time until he decided to go 5sgte. Hes also a CP dealer and can get CP pistons.

Thats the setup I am ordering from him this week.

These rods do work. The stroke is diffterent but any proper shop can figure out the 5sfe and 3sgte differences. I have these rods and pistons in my car now and have 150 miles on them so far.
