I have no clue whats a good brand of tire and/or wheel, what size works best with my celica 97 st, etc...

i have looked on tire rack and it says it can fit up to an 18", however, i doubt thats the 'best' fit... and what brand(s) of wheels should i be focusing on?

i've also read the tire and wheel bible, so I know the theories and basics behind tires/wheels, i just need some guidance with real-life experience and suggestions... preferibly if you've had/tried out a certain brand and under certain conditions...

i won't be using them in the winter, so its not a problem.

rain is tho, as im in PA, the state of rain... but, no matter what tire i have, i doubt i'd drive like an idiot..

help please.

Get some 17's with 215/45/17 tires. I have nanking, which is not the best of brands but have had no problems in rain out of them at all.

I second the conti's. I also own a set of 215/45/17's. Also, the Pirelli P Zero Nero M & S are some of the best rated all season tires which I would have bought except for a nation wide back order a few months ago.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

i have bfgoodrich scorchers and they are fantastic in the rain. its unbelievable. i can drive thro 2 inch deep puddles like they are nothing. ill whip down a single lane road with a jersy barrior and a guardrail when its pouring out and not have ne thing to worry about, even going 60. they are way better than my snow tires are in the rain, and those are 185/60/15's.

Third on the Continental ContiExtreme Contacts.

I just recently got them from tirerack.com for a pretty decent price and one day shipping. I have them on my stock 15" wheels. 205/55/15 VR tires. Highly reccomend, great in dry and wet situations. Whatever you decide to do, keep us posted.

As far as wheels, its really a matter of personal taste and fitment. Obviously you need a 5x100 bolt pattern and an offset that works with your rim width. For 7"-7.5" wide wheels, the best offset is probably something between 37 and 42. As for "best" brands for wheels, there are several manufactures that make forged wheels which are stronger and lighter in most cases. However, they are also very expensive. For a typical 6gc, you probably do not want to spend that much on wheels. Most of us do not buy forged wheels although they are great. I would probably go with a relatively decent brand just so you know its manufactured well. There are tons out there. If you tell us what style you like, we can help you a little more. By style, I mean 5-spoke, 6-spoke, polished lip, etc, etc.

id actually recommend two sets of wheels
1 set for summer with performance tread
and 1 set for anything else with all seasons smile.gif

it doesn't take that much work to change wheels...

I have some ****ty AR rims that came with my car when i bought it, so I just need 1 set for summer/spring.

as I said before I like these: http://www.tirerack.com/servlet/CallJsp?ta...cing&colorInd=6

and for tires im probablly gonna go with whatever racing wheel that got at sears... I think its sumoko HTZ or something like that. i think im going with 18" too.

i like 5 spoke and painted sliver something like that.

Your link still doesnt work. It has timed out. For 5 spoke, popular choices for our cars are the Enkei RS5 or the Racing Hart C5's. Good luck.
