your hub bearing could be worn out, they make lots of noise when they go.

another thing to check before going into big repairs... check the two 17mm bolts on the lower half of the caliper... that would be for clunking noises when hitting bumps

or if you had work the the "fit-kit" type of thing around the pads(just read this page, i could be way off)

hub bearing are like 200 bucks new and their hard as heck to find them too. they kept givng me the one with abs i'm like look man i don't have abs these aren't going to fit. eventually i gave up and went to a junkyard and got it for 60 bucks the whole hub assembly not just the bearing.

jack the car up and wiggle the tire back and fourth if it moves then the bearing is bad. do the same with the front to see if your ball joint could be going out.

strut mounts anyone??

i work at toyota, and as far as ive read into, and correct if im worng, no one has yet to mention the possibility or strut mounts. when a strut mount goes bad, it becomes increasingly obvious with time. in the begginings, you will just barely notice clunking in the morning or when its cold. after too long, you will hear them over every bump. to check them you can have someone jounce the car up and down while you feel the top of the strut nut. if it hops up and down excissively and and you can tell the diffrence as if it were a new car... bingo.

in this guys case with the post new KYB strut installation noise, its possible the installer did not sit the strut mount properly aligned onto the strut grooves. that happens alot.

strut mounts tend to go bad typically around 100K miles or so.

Tighten your nuts. Nuts comes loose, especially when you have new rims.

I know a lot of suggestions have been made but so far no one has mentioned the most likely. I used to have a nissan altima that had a worn tie rod. Sometimes when you turn the wheel it would clunk 1 or 2 times, or also over some small bumps...clunk...clunk. Well, I got the tie rod replaced and all is well. You can check by jacking one of the front tires up and wiggling the wheel. If you feel any play, or especially if you can hear slight clicking, your tie rod is worn. Most mechanic shops (expertire, midas, etc.) will confirm this for free. You could also take it to any of your local shops. Make sure you have a shop check the alignment after this is done because sometimes it gets thrown off.
