i just taped mine off, its probably the lazy way out but if you tape it up well it will look as good as if you take it apart. personally, i didn't want to take the time to do it after my friend spent 7 hours doing it to his BMW

Okay, im doing mine right now, taped off, the problem with mine is the paint isnt going on evenly, it keeps going into little groups of paint, so it looks all speckled, I used brake cleaner and then sanded it down, whats going on?

Does the brake cleaner have any oil in it? If it has any kind of oilyness or leaves a film on the surface then that's the problem. Oils and paints don't mix like oil and water don't.

Umm i dont think it has any oil in it, but before i sprayed them I sanded them down pretty well, and wiped all the bits of sanded stuff off... it turned out pretty well though.. I just need to get my pads replaced, the paint didnt quite get into the corner of the caliper and pad well.. oh well This post has been edited by ShadowFX: Sep 27, 2004 - 7:28 AM |
