if im stupid tell me to shut up. but i know i can put the turbo and the super in the engine bay. but will it be benifical thats the question..... i know a guy with a mini who wants this setup. he wants the turbo near the cat, feeding into a y pipe before an intercooler. so the s/c and the t/c both meet then they come out the other side as one.. it sounded cool and fast but i dunno. hit me up with shutup's, or ideas on how to make this work. please.....

I dont think it will work. If you have a super charger and a turbo, which ever one is less strong at pushing air(super) will slow the other one (turbo) down. So, for a smaller engine, a turbo is really the best way to go IMO.

Yes it's theoretically possible. Hasn't been done to my knowledge on the 7A block, though HKS used to build a twincharger kit for the 4AGZE MR2 that was comprehensive and very costly. IMO, too expensive and complex to be practical on most vehicles.

Some guy I saw in a magazine has a MK1 MR-2 Supercharged and he also has a turbo. The supercharger is for off the off the line and the turbo kicks in later for top end. It's like a sequential system...it was pretty impressive. Over 400 WHP.

hell yea my plan was to rig the charger up to the ac pulley. so off the line if i turn on the ac the charger works. then when i turn the ac off. and the turbo kicks in for that lovely boost feeling. i can also use this on a road course for long straights.

i'm sure you can set it up to kick off at at say 3000 rpm right when your turbo has fully spun for boost i read that some where i look for the artical. http://come.to/twincharger

IMO, twin charging is old technology. Turbos now-a-days are efficient enough that bad boost lag (what twin charging was designed to eliminate) is almost non-exsistant.

dual boost IMO isn't worth the trouble. the idea behind dual boosting is to have the supercharger fill the gap of turbo lag when accelerating. like Kwanza said, modern turbos don't experience that much lag anymore.

sounds a lot like my friend's car

not sure if its the same exact car, but he has 400rwhp too

that car is crazy.

btw, the 4agze supercharger pully works like an AC pulley.

you cant run them at the same time,

you run the SC at low rpms, then the turbo at high rpms

so heres another thought could i go bigger turbo and more psi becasue of the bigger turbo. casue if i run an sc at low rpm's wouldnt it make a larger turbo spool faster. giving it a ratio of a small turbo in terms of spool time???. i really want to make this work without blowing my engine or tranny up.

The supercharger in this setup does not directly help the turbo spin up any faster; it produces the boost until the turbo is capable of taking over. The HKS kit had a special control unit to control SC/Turbo switchover. You should be able to run a lerger sized turbo if you're twincharging and have no lag, but it should still be sized to the application.

This is a very expensive proposition, and it will take a lot of fabrication. I hope you have another car to drive while you work on the Celica.

no im just building a seperate engine in a storage shed. im tryin to go for origianality. as far as i can see no one has this type of set up in there celica. but i might just go for twin turbo casue i hate turbo lag. but then again i cant benifit from fast spooling then there done. so if i setup both sequntial it might work to benifit me. im gonna work with it i will let yall know.
