As the title says I have been giving it alot of thought and I am almost poitive that the Celica has to go frown.gif See last year I opened my business and next year I want a house. The car is paid off in 8 days but all the money I have been dumping into it and the money I am spending in insurance isnt worth it anymore. I drove it for the first time in a month today. I am also looking at houses about an hour from my store and will not want to put those kind of miles on the car. So it's sad but I think its time. I was just wondering what some thoughts on a fair price would be. When it;s your car you always think you can get more then you really can. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Tressa

Money was the big reason I had to sell my first 6th gen. For a 19 year old male with a couple speeding tickets, the celica is not a cheap car to insure.

How many miles are on the car? Also list any blemishes or anything making the car less than perfect. What kind of aftermarket goods are there, I know you mentioned a turbo setup in your profile?

With this info I bet me and others can give you a benchmark price. I think ill see you down at the Midwest meet on Oct 2nd also

I would say dependign on how it looks in person.. It looks great.. also depending on miles.. I would say prolly around 7-8k but the more you ask for the longer it will take to sell..

NO WAY !!!!!!! mad.gif

there is no way in hell. mad.gif mad.gif

that car is worth a lot more than that. The convertible always keeps its value. I traded one 98 GT conv and the dealer gave me 12500 for trade in.

Tressa, Is sad that you have to do that but sometimes sacrifices are needed and they pay back with interest.
Go to www.traderonline.com and look for your specific vehicle like you are buying one, compare them to yours and then decide what would be a fair price.

When I saw your car on this site I decided that I wanted to buy another Celica GT conv, I told you that before. So I looked for it and I found one in Indianapolis, I took a plane over there and then I drove it down to Miami. Im sure you will find a good buyer ... it just takes some time..

Good Luck ! smile.gif

Good luck with the sale Tressa. How many miles on the car? I paid $9300 for my 1998 last February if that helps. It had 97,000 miles but no after market goodies. Unfortunately, you don't usually get much for aftermarket modifications. If I were you, I would return some of the stock parts first and then sell off the aftermarket stuff individually. The seats come to mind. Also, with your car, I would imagine placing a sign on it at shows could be effective.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

As of now there are 91,000 miles on it. Honestly there is nothing wrong with the bosy at all. The front lip has some little chips and and cracks (only in the paint) But nothing you can see without looking or that a reshoot cant help. As far as the interior it clean as hell. I still have the stock seats and those are in great shape. I bought the car 4 years ago from a guy that garage kept it he had to sell it because they had a baby. For the aftermarket stuff everything would go with the car and if someone wanted the turbo set-up we would add that in otherwise I would part it out. Like I said it is so hard because it is such a nice car and I built it to be that nice so I plan to have the final decision made by the begining of next month after I receive the title from the bank.

I will defenatly be there on the 2nd I wouldnt miss it biggrin.gif

Private party on kbb, is only around 6300 .. I dont think unless ya have the tubro on there, your gunna get much more then 8k .. yeah verts hold value, but thats ebcause they are worth more.. maybe with the turbo and such around $9500 .. but is also a 95, with 91k on it..

In my opinion a turbo could bring the value of your car down. If I were going to be buying a car and there were two people one with the turbo on and one with it ready to be put on I'd take that one. If you buy the one that has it on already whats to say it was done right, taken care of and stuff like that. Plus if things start going wrong with it when you put it on, it's easier to troubleshoot. Thats just my opinion.

Thanks for all of your thoughts so far
I'll keep you posted on the verdict

Tressa i noticed that you live in chicago. I love your car and am
planning on buying the exact same 95 GT convertible except i want to
paint it yellow and the front bumper might be the C-one or the one you
have. I really want this car for next summer but i have never seen
these in person. I also live in chicago and i was wondering if you can
help me with my decision of choosing between a hatch back or the
convertible. Could you tell me where these car shows are at and would i
be able to check out your car? Im in love with this car. Also how much is the insurance or a 21 year old on this thing. thanks

Id say definitely turn it back to natural aspiration. You would end up making more of your money back overall than if you were to sell it already installed. I for one, and Im sure plenty of others would be interested in buying the turbo setup separately. Ill have to take my eyes off of the 3s-gte's for a second and check out how the 5s-fe feels turboed tomorrow at the meet.

you said your car will be paid off in a few days. thats the best reason to keep it. its a free car from now on, and you can start saving the money you were paying every month.

if you sell it, you will still have to go out and buy another car.
