ok so for those of us with subs man its awesome!!! i dont know if you have ever tried to listen to music afterwards without them? its like a baby with no bottle! anyway point is i just gutted my car for weight reduction. so i was cruising the canyons and man with no weight it was awesome. but it kinda sucked cause well i didnt have my subs pounding. should i keep them or no? i really am lost.. and if i should keep them how should i rig the box and amp, i have no seats or carpet or well anything???. pelase help me confused.gif

well i first choice i would go with a one decent sub....one 10" or 12...most time time one speaker can out bump 2 with the right built box...but doesnt sound like you want anything that crazy either...i would say go with a fiber glass steath box...and do the same with the amp on the other side of the car...or just simply bolt it down good...the last thing you want is a amp or a loose sub to kill you when you drive....well have fun workin with fiberglass

Um...what exactly did you gut? The only thing thats that heavy is the spare and seats, and thats only 150lbs? If that, ur not going to feel that.

That said, are you building a race car? I can see you going all out on a car thats not daily driven, that you constantly take to the track. My guess is no, and in that case why bother? Would you rather have a good looking car that your going to enjoy on a day to day basis?

IMO you have an ST, its not going to put down major numbers unless you do some hard work on the engine, so leave the subs in.

yea i mean the car is gutted like there is nothing but what needs to be for legal reasons i decided to put my box back in and i can take it out when i race. i dont race drag i race track. there is about 250 pounds of junk that toyota put in the interior. and 120-150 in the rest of the car so i feel it when its in, or not. oh yea and as for motor work i just got simple stuff exauhst intake etc.. i was looking for perfromance without spending adime. so anyway thats what i have to resort to.

Well if ur going to the track and looking for your best times, definately take all that stuff out before you race, but for day to day, meh; leave it in.

My goal is that I want my car to be street fast, that is, fast with all seats and my 12'' sub and amps. When I go to the track and I'm trying for 13's, I'm taking it out.

Believe me, it's not. 6x9s can't even begin to compare to a subwoofer if you've ever actually had one in your car and then taken it out.
