it sounds like a dumb question and i searched the forum.. but how often is smog check for a 94 celica GT in California ?? i checked the DMV website and its all confusing.. haha

why is everyone worried about smog, you need to make friends or get some deep pockets.
if your worried about smog just pay someone off. i had a gutted primary, test pipe, and straight through 2.5" and paid just some random old chick 75 bucks on top of the inspection cost and she passed me. plus my windows were way to dark and i think my car was too loud. -------------------- Former: 96 GT 5 speed (i/p/e) Fate- rear ended by mack truck

hahah i was thinkin about that cuz i know lots of VC (viet) peeps that work in Garden Grove who do smog but i wanna know how often it is required.. not how to pass.. haha thanks though

yeah i have no clue how often its required. i usually just go when i get the first letter in the mail.

depends who you bought it from, a friend of mine got a 96 prelude vtec and a year after he got it, he had to smog it again, but now he is set for 2 years but generally, 2-3 years, going by the 5 cars i own, lol whats the deal with 2000+ cars tho? i heard somewhere that brand new cars dont get checked till they are like 5 years old, is that true? -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

That's unusual cause you gotta smog it to transfer the title anyways... but yeah. It's confirmed at 2 years BTW. As for the 2000+ models, I'm not sure about the very latest emission standards, but 2004 is the first year they're getting smogged. I guess you're correct about the 5 year rule, cause a lot of 2000 models were purchased in 1999. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

Kwanza! you run a smog shop?! and you're in norcal! AUGH! I wish I knew that two weeks ago when I paid 80 bucks for my smog test. About a week after that, I found another place which only charged 40 bucks. Baaah.
does this mean I can turbo my car now? eh? eh? |
