Oy. Can't leave expensive stuff in plain sight. But I only do that when I go to the city, or shady parts. You live in the 'good' part of town. Man. Must be stupid kids.

Oh man, this situation is going to get really ugly. frown.gif

It was a really nice laptop, so they want it back, so MARQ(the company I work for) is tellling me that I need to file an insurance claim to get money to pay for the laptop.

But I guarantee that that idea won't fly with my parents, and they'll probably want me to just pay for the laptop out of my own pocket. And I can't afford to pay for this $3,000 laptop myself. That's nearly half the price that I'm selling the car for. frown.gif

So yeah, it's gonna be a nightmare once I go home tonight...I'll probably get screamed at by my mom...probably get accused of being a bad son and get accused of being on drugs again...the whole works. frown.gif

Your parents sound like a couple of ****ing assholes. How can they blame your car being broken into on you? Some parents are just plain retarded.

I hope this all works out for you.

Oh, I bet they'll find a way. They'll probably blame me for having a laptop in the car, even though I needed to take it to work. frown.gif

My dad actually isn't so bad, but my mom will flip out once she finds out. frown.gif

Just curious, do you ever argue back with your parents or just take in what they say?

No, I argue back with my mom, then she'll end up eventually flipping out and storming out of the house and slamming doors and stuff. Then after that come the accusations of me being on drugs. frown.gif

Seriously, show them one of those "My Antidrug" commercials & then explain to then how they WANT YOU ON DRUGS if they want you to stop working on your car cause that's what their basically asking for. I don't see how parents cant see that children never do bad things on their own but its cause of parents restricting them to do things that causes them to lash out by doing negative things...I speak from "alot" of experience.

& why do they keep on with this drug business, have they taken drugs themselfs or seen your friends do it cause they stay on that, ask them if taking drugs would hush them up on the whole topic cause I'd be out doing crack or something if I was told I do drugs so often...

Yeah, seriously. Everyone I know knows I could never be into drugs because I'd rather spend my money and time on my car. Everyone except my parents. rolleyes.gif

I always tell my parents that instead of doing drugs like most of the people in Yakima, I work on my cars and actually do something with my life. Instead of drinking at parties, I hang out in parking lots talking with car people. Instead of buying cocaine downtown, I'm buying car parts on eBay. Instead of growing weed in my basement, I'm building parts for my car in my basement. But they just don't understand. Neither do the cops in Yakima.

I've written essays and papers and even gave a speech about my views on Yakima and its drug problems and police problems, but it gets me nowhere.

At least I feel better knowing myself that I'm not on drugs and knowing that I'm going somewhere. And I'm beginning to not care about what my parents have to say anymore.

Well sorry to hear man, it's like I know if you do one drastically bad thing, it'll open your parents eyes but who knows what that can be, it worked for me...I had fun doing it too. lol tongue.gif

Just keep throwing out the same arguement about no drugs all cars & you might get lucky, or else just move out (or bluff) if you think they'll try to stop you.

Sorry to hear coom, yeah the drug problem is getting out of hand in alot of area's anymore, Ie: my apartments, every night, either domestic ****, or someone gettin busted, and there was a serial rapist just caught there, wish I would have known this **** before hand er.

Its a hard call weather to report it or not, I probley would just because the value of everything, but then your parents might want you togo on your own insurence, and I know that would be out the ass for you.

hope you the best of luck.

sucks about the theft.....but dood, you never leave anything in pain view inside of your car! i know if i left a laptop in pain view, it be a matter of time before it gets stolen.

if i were you i would call the cops and report the theft, then call the insurance company and report the damge and stolen laptop. tell you job you reported the theft. they cant really make u pay for the laptop out of your own pocket. think of it this way, if you are a bus driver and you wreck the company bus, you dont pay for it on your own. you job should have some type of insurance on these things.
