Nice lil' box...

Quick question... have read several studies that most subwoofers sound better when placed against the seats facing the trunk... have you tuned the box for correct distance to the driver's seat? Are you running multiple subs or just one?

Nice work, nonetheless.

That is one of the best ones Iv seen in the celi's, just cause its nice and clean, an seems to flow with the panels, But the sub's will sound a lot better reflecting towards the back.. Im sill trying to find a design I Like, Once i do I will start. It has somthing Ive been wanting to do foe awhile.

well im not really too concerned about the sound of it.. I want just a little over stock.. I personally HATE loud systems wink.gif

That and I'm gonna get rid of this setup in a few months newayz cus sub and amp isnt even mine biggrin.gif

I am working on the amp one right now so will post a couple pics of the process for you guys as I move along with the project tonight.. plan on finishing it all in the next 2 hrs so stay tuned tongue.gif

here is what I have done so far

this is the area my amp will be mounted on

Sorry I didnt take pics of the prepwork.. basically I removed the panel and sprayed it with pam cooking spray. I then covered it with aluminim foil, paying close attention to the areas that would become the edge of my box. I extended the foil 8 inches past the areas I wanted to end the fiberglass. I used masking tape to help hold stuff down. once the area was completly covered I started laying down the fiberglass.. being carefull to get all airpockets worked out and that it had a nice tight fit on the areas that will become the edges. I then let that cure fully and popped out the fiberglass piece. I didnt glass in the center on this one cuz its the amp one and I wanted to have access to the wires etc once the whole thing was finished but if this was a sub box I would of made it a solid piece. Once it was out I peeled off all the tape and aluinim foil and cleaned everything up.

will post more pics in a little bit

no offense, but i don't see the sound quality being very good. Air space is needed around the magnet in order to perform. If you inverted the sub, then you should get some good sound from it.

well theres prolly about 1.7 cubic inches of air space inside the box.. its bigger than it looks you guys tongue.gif That and like I said before... DONT WANT A LOUD ASS SYSTEM! just nice and clean inside the car

edit: sorry 1.7 cubic feet

amp mount attached to the fiberglass piece

Stretched cloth over the whole thing.. I used a lyria type fabric.. its mostly Nylon with like 7% lyria it stretches really far both ways so you dont get ne wringles in it.

Now just gotta lay fiberglass resin over all this and then carpet it... will have more pics soon

for hatches...i think the subs sound better and cleaner when facing up against the glass instead of hitting the trunk panel. the sound resonates better of the glass, well from my experience. You should try it and let me know if it sounds better or not, just curious myself. Clean setup btw Never...keep it up.
