Those images are pretty big, might be hard to see. Anyway the first page is the quote, the second page is the automobile inspection report. The first page shows the breakdown and fees, type of car, mileage. It also shows that special equipment is included in this policy. The total is $2809 for 6 months of coverage. Very very very very high. But this guy has a lot dumped into his car. Which brings us to the second page.

The agent inspects the car (usually just does a once over and marks all stock). In this case, the dude wants his special equipment covered, so you can see a few marks in the special equipment portion. Thats nothing, there was about 14 pages of receipts from JDM Motorsports for different things from his rims all the way up to his swapped vtec engine. He had to include receipts and pictures of every special equipment, which is what raised his premium so high.

Now here's the warning for progressive users. This guy got in an accident. Notice on the first page when it lists the type of vehicle, below the total cost. It says SALAVAGED VEHICLE. The special equipment on this car is worth more than the car itself. -->Progressive will only give you 70% of the car's worth if its salvaged, regardless of anything else. They refuse to give this guy his money EVEN THOUGH he paid all those premiums. Look at the quote again, he's been insured since 6/10/02. Our company is being sued by progressive for making a policy with this client. They said that we shouldn't have put his special equipment under the policy if the vehicle was salvaged.

Two things basically, special equipment costs a lot of money to cover and watch out if your car is salvaged.

oh yeah and progressive sucks donkey balls. I hope this was helpful as I had to get mission impossible-like to get this information.

Salvage title cars are pretty much worthless, I'm sure all insurance companies will only pay 70% or so of the value of a car with a salvage title.

Progressive(depressive)=the devil
I have Nationwide , I got into an accident with a person with progressive it was her fault she wrote a note saying she will pay for my damages out of her pocket because she was so scared progressive would raise her rate by $1000 a year ,when she got home her husband and progressive gets her to changer her story, but she already admited guilt and wrote and signed a note , I faxed a copy to progressive and Nationwide and progressive ignores the note and refuse to look at the damage to my car (2002 accord not my celica) so Nationwide has to send the case to the next level where some arbitrator(sp) has to look into it. Nationwide told me it would take a long time so they fixed my car and now they have to fight to get the money from progressive.

Proggressive is crap, They quoted my $800 for 6 months full coverage on my car, and I went to another company and they gave me the same coverage for $400 for 6 months.

hey sorry to say guys, but progressive is a good insurance company. I used to work insurance, so I know. just like any insurance company, they have rules and guidelines. the agent is responsible for knowing parameters of a company's coverage. The car should've shown up as salvage when vin #'s went through, at which time he should've known to not put hella **** on the car. if hes running a salvage car, he should know that coverage is limited, and as an agent so should you. progressive has been around and is an A rated company if i'm not mistaken.

as for the driver, he needs to be sure that he knows what is included in coverage. he will get information from progressive saying what is covered and what isnt.

progressive is cheaper than most, especially for commercial vehicles. the coverage is acceptable. when you get cheap, you usually need to read between the lines. I read before I sign. do you?

Update on this case ,
case settled , I just go my deductable back , I had to pay $250 towards getting my car fixed ,because those evil bastards at progressive didnt want to pay , but NationWide kicked thier butts and got my money back and got thier money back.

If you get in an accident with somebody who has progressive , and its not your fault, call the police and get a report ,do not talk to the other persons progressive agent at all, you DONT HAVE TO. call YOUR insurance for coaching they will solve it.
