hey guys i know this is been explaned before but i cant seem to get how to do this. what part of the strut do you grind when you put the ground controls on the car i seen the how to article and still dont understand. does anyone have close up pictures on how they did it.

If the coil over sleve will slide over the strut then you dont have to grind any thing. You just grind any part that wond let the sleive slide over. For my coil overs i had the grind the top of the strut houseing its a nut looking thing that holds the strut together.

It should of come with some kind of diagram, but if not........

*its what i circled 3 times in RED*

you grind the hexagon (i think) bolt that is on the stock strut. The funtion of this large bolt looking device is to secure the strut into the strut sleeve. If you grind it, which you have to do, its a bit harder to get off to replace struts, so if your getting new struts put them in first. You can get it loose, just takes a little work!! Hope this helps!! wink.gif

thank you very much silverst this is exactly what i was looking for. now for the rears its not a hexagon its a cirle shape should i grind the rear ones also? sorry for the newbie questions guys its my frist time doing this.

no worries, if you can fit it over the circle that's great! But you may have to grind them a little. As long as you can fit it over the strut mount comfortable its perfect! smile.gif

if you can, try to grind it in a way that it still has a hexagon shape, and not a complete circle. it'll make things way easier later if you need to replace any blown shocks. i grinded mine to a nice circle cause i thought it look all pretty and stuff, but took me 3 hours just to loosen it to get the shocks out...**Sigh** i miss my car!!
