so, i need new brakes and rotors for my car. seeing as now i have more power with the 3sgte, i was thnking of upgrading the brakes.

what are some of the best brands of brake pads for our cars?

are cross drilled, or slotted rotors really going to improve braking in our cars?

you can check this out:

http://www.irotors.com/index2.html

high quality rotors at an inexpensive price. i wouldn't get the brake pads that they sell though. i would go for a ceramic pad. less squeel and no dust. i would go with EBC Green Stuff brake pad, or AXXIS Ceramic pad (Red or blue box). if you want pics of the rotors on my car, ill pm them to you.

Yeah, the EBC Sport & Race Brakes(V4 Green Stuff) is what you want to get. If you want to do a little better, EBC just came out with a new line of pads that out do the Green Stuff. They are the EBC Redstuff Ceramic Brake Pads.

ok...so after getting crossdrilled rotors, did any of you guys notice better braking? almost everyone i talk to seems to have some issue with their brakes not working well after installing crossdrilled. i never see anyone post "i got them, braking is way better".

I believe you have to break them in with about 100 miles of easy breaking; if you try and brake hard with brand new crossdrilled rotors, they won't break well..

There was a big topic about xc drilled and slotted a bit back.

EBC greenstuff's rock. I love mine, you should get em. But mine do squel a bit, but i coulda messed up the installation

Try some break silencer spray for your pads, might resolve the squeling.

i have brembo drilled and slotted rotors in the fron with axxis metal masters. they dont squeel or dust as much as i anticipated. but the braking seems to be better than stock. does anyone know how to keep aftermarket rotors from rusting overtime, like any protective spray or anything.

i ended up buying crossdrilled brembos with some ceramic pads off tirerack. i have been driving around for about a week and can say that my breaking is better then before. its not a drastic change, but u do notice it.

hey i just added some cross drilled slotted to my 96 st. there awesome going fast but when i go slow they suck. they also make a hideous noise while just cruising. i put them on like 2 days ago, hopefully they break in soon. the noise sucks but im happy with em other than that. i shaved off 1 half minutes on my track time.
