im thinking of painting my car with my uncle who has painted cars in the past. i want a red like my car but with silver specs in the paint. any reconmendations on where to get this and what brands. also for the clear coast. also how many quarts would it take to finish my car. thanks in advance

For the red with silver, you could spray a straight red color and put some silver in the clear coat. That would look pretty cool and be custom.

As far as how much paint... hmmm I used a good 2 quarts of primer to prime just the exterior of the car. And that was 3 coats of primer on the areas I had done work in, and two in the areas i didn't.... So I'd say you need at least 3 quarts of primer, paint and clear.

If you plan on doing the jams as well, you might be looking at a pint to a quart of the paint and clear. Of course, you will also have reducer and hardener in there, but the paint store can give you the right amounts of that.
