so im canyon running tonight. i was doin my normal 60-65 but then i just started goin a lil faster..... bad i dea. wheels lost traction, i lost control. the car started to fishtale heavily. i did a 360 and wound up in the side of the mountain. but i still had momentum so i bounced off and the tail end banged up against the side. my whole ac line cracked and leaked out anything that was in it. my rear taillight got pushed out because my 50 pound sub box did a summersault into the back, and banged out my taillight. the passenger side was the side that banged the wall and it poped somin out in the suspension. any time i stop and turn the wheel it makes a loud POP. and when i was driving into my parking garage at the apartment it made this crunching noise. im still in a lil bit of shock. my front bumper is cracked and the metal pannel next to it is dented in. it looks like a ufo. i should have stayed my normal speed this sucks!!! and we have the so cal meet in 2 weeks. like i said i wish i could curse...... oh pics wil be up tommrow if i can figure out how.

Nice *thumbs up* everyone who canyon races does this eventually; it's nothing to be ashamed about. All part of learning |

yea when i first started fishtaling i had a choice of side of mountain, or 300 foot drop. so i cut that wheel and i thought it would be alot worse then it is. but i mean its not to bad except the suspension is really ****ed. i got kind of lucky. im still wondering if i should call the insurance or not. but thanks for the comment. your right everyone does do this at least once. ive had 2 of my buddys fly off already so im lucky.

yea cause like i always tell the new guys on the first runs. if you start slippin get that car to hit the wall instead of flying off. ive been driving the same road for 4 months every day. i guess my friends said i hugged one corner to tight and hit a lil dirt doing 70 and i just lost it.

dirt is the devil thats why i like driving out slow, to check the road conditions, and then comming back fast. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

yea i always check it first. i went on that road 3 times i think my tires were just giving out. i went though 2 loops which is about 30 miles of hard driving. anyway i went back on it today like jumping on a horse. and my suspension is fine its a lil better actually.... so no worrys but i still need mad body work.

i tell this to everyone it happens to all of us. as long as you walk away its ok. i had the same thing happen a few nights ago. after losing a friend went to the canyon roads to let some anger out. got it pretty sideways and just slid into a ditch. i had the same symptoms of steering you had. jack the front up and see which tire shakes grab the top and bottom of the tire and see if its loose. if it is let me know ill let you know the easyfix for it. i though i blew either a cv boot or the front axel but was lucky and just needed to tighten 1 bolt. |
