61/2's are a perfect fit at the back, but the fronts!, I've still yet
to do those, I was gonna put 6 1/2's with some sort of outer frame to make up for the gap but its just too much hassle.Someone on this site said they got 2 way 8"'s(think it was audiofreak) in the front. I may go for that option.Any one fitted separate tweeters and where did you mount them ? (JDM cars don't have separate tweeters mounted in the dash corners) |

Acutally I've got a pair of MB Quart REFERENCE RKC116 6 1/2" up front. It's true 6 1/2" and 6 3/4" don't fit on their own. To mount my Quarts I used the speaker grill attaching ring to mount the speaker. The ring is a hair bigger than it needs to be so I cut a notch for each of the 4 screws the stock speaker attached with. |

Cheers Tony, I knew someone stuck in 8"s. Anyone removed/
cut the plastic grille off on the front speakers, I'm thinking of putting blue coloured cones, it would be a shame to hide them behind that ugly plastic grille .... |

i'm thinking of buying a piece of wood, maybe 1/4 of an inch? and cutting it to fit the plastic on the door and screw it in, then fit the speaker on the wood by making a hole wide enough on the wood to place the speaker in.

As someone else said they are actually 8" speakers in the front and 6 3/4 in the rear. Very hard to find an 8" 2-way or 3-way speaker. I know MB Quart makes a 8" woofer which can be matched to a tweeter.
