I have recently been encountering a problem with my e-brake light. It comes on when I brake or when I accelerate and shift gears. It does this a lot in the morning and seems to go away as the car warms up. Any ideas what this could be? I drive a 1994 ST. Thanks.

check your brake fluid. If it is low, the brake light will come on.

your fluid isn't low. Your pads or shoes are low. Do a brake job and it'll go away. The only way brake fluid gets low is if there is a leak, other then that brake fluid can't escape and it does burn up or deterioate. If you check your fluid and its low then it means you have a leak or your pads and shoes are low.

not true i filled mine 2 months ago.... level hasnt changed.... my pads had over 50% left on them and it was flickering under certian conditions.... if the shoes/pads were low then it would only flick on when the pedal is pressed.... he says its on acceleration and braking.... which means fluid is sloshing due to centrifical force |

exactly, fluid moves when there is space. low pads creates more space in the brake lines.
