Night starts off of going out to eat for my sisters b-day. On my way home on the highway in Maine(I-95). I see this green 3000GT SL behind as I am coming off the exit. So we get to a set of lights and line up(Keep in mind I have a auto 95 ST coupe w/ 192k miles and a bad timing belt & low oil).

So I downshift into low and the light turns green. He takes me off the launch. I pull away in 2nd at about 40 before another red light. I'm thinking ok this guy had to of been taking it easy. So as we come to the set of lights we acknowledge each other and get rdy for a real run. Where this light is....is a newly paved 4 way road. So it turns green and we are off. Both of us are doing about 70 in a 30. He ends up beating me by a fender length.

He then proceeds to pull up behind me and take a left onto a side road and I keep going straight. As I watch him take his left I see "blues" in my rearview. I'm thinking oh crap I am totally screwed. The cop actually ends up taking a left to where the 3000GT went instead of going straight to get me. tongue.gif

I have never had my heart drop so fast in my life. I will never do that again unless on a track.

umm celica gods's hmm ok... lol but yea dont worry if a cop ever pulls you over in a race like that. just say he was tailgating you and you were scared to pull over so you just sped up. works for me or just deny the whole thing that also works. or get a really hot girl to sit in the pass seat.

It's faster yo! You only have to shift when racing. And 1 less gear! Psssh, you have push in a peddel you sucka.

he was referring to how it does nothing
basically the best time to actually use the manual shifter is when turning at high speeds to get some power down without having to mash the pedles
