It's also to keep the heat off the hood so it doesnt own your paint. I ripped mine off tho, they look tacky i think

i get the heat coming out of my vent too!
Supersprynt, the vent sits over the exhaust heat shied and tubo, so it really dosnt have anything to do with the intercooler. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Thanks for the replys! So it looks like earlier GTs got them.
The engine noise doesn't bother me, it's the paint I'm worried about. I just bought the car about a month ago and after washing it a couple of times, the paint is very dull on the hood only. I waxed a corner of the hood and it was all better so hopefully that will restore the gloss. -------------------- '99 Convertible
