(first pic i ever had of my car, in the prevoius owners yard, they sure grow up fast. I remember when my dad told me about it for sale at his work, and how anxcous i was when I heard it was a 5spd, one of my deciding factors.)

Original cost: $5200, Payed: $4800, Total to date: $9000, (about, after new motor, etc.)

This week marks my one year aniversery of owning my celica, its been a year full of new things for me, My celica is now the first car that I have owned for a full year biggrin.gif

It has been a year of good and bad but it has all evend out. I'ev been thinking about my crash (when i lost my civic, rear ended buy a new volvo), and at the time how mad /sad i was, but now looking back I cant help but think how it has changed my life for the better.

I remember our first drive together, my test drive with my dad down 405 a lil ways and back, i remember taking it home right when i bought it 3 days earlyer then was planed because i could not wait, thinking how cool it was, and the potential of it. not to mention how nice it was to have a 2.2ltr under the hood instaid of the 1.5ltr

Its been a great year, and i hope that i have many more. I look forward to the end of my 2nd year when i hope to have my supra rear end and frunt bumper conv, as well as a new paint job, and 18" wheels, and of cource the CT-26.

LOL

That story warms my heart for some reason.... tongue.gif Glad ta hear you and your celica are happy together. Your story reminds me how I found my celica...

Me and my dad were looking around for the 6 gen celis for awhile... we looked at one celi that looked similar to yours, HB blue touquoist color. (your is a hatchback right?) Yep, was close to buying it too for about $7500...

Then the next day my dad came home with an autotrader magazine, and called me to look at this one celica... He flipped to the page that was marked and the first thing I saw was a little white convertible 6 gen celica. Instantly I was hooked and fell in love with it, tongue.gif but my first reaction was.... "A Convertible? You gotta be kidding me!" (cuz at the time, my dad wanted me to get a coupe and only a coupe, so him bringing a convertible up was kinda a shock)About 2 or 3 days later, I bought my celi convert for $7000 and ever since then, I've been so happy with it. biggrin.gif

Yep... my 1st aniversary is coming up in the spring, but glad ta hear that your happy with your celica. Good luck with your plans, Im sure they'll look great once your done biggrin.gif

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.

blackout16: sounds like your story could be just as interesting, what like some shady character showed up one day hadded u the keys and u never saw em again, gata love freebees.

Sabrina: that is interesting, i bet that it was mine, the lady I bought it from had been trying to sell it with no luck for around that price for some time, and she lives (or did live) out your way a bit (well a wase south of me if i remember right), anyway if it is the same car, Thanks for passing it up, had it not been the combination of it for sale at my dads work, and her frustration in selling it, my baby and I might have never have meet, and I really doubt that i would have gotten a celica at all (I wanted somthing more V-tech related frown.gif )

LOL
Thats crazy! The hatcback celi I looked at was somewhere near puallup (cant spell that town's name rolleyes.gif ) Is that where your celi is from? Cuz if it is, wow.... LOL! I might have almost bought it!

But I highly doubt that that was your celica... This one was on a small car dealer lot... It sounds like you got yours privately with someone else, like me and my celica. But did yours come from a car lot?

LOL

yeah, this celi was in puayallup, and well there's a reason why i wasn't gonna buy it, but it was a car that I was considering... anyways, reason why i didn't buy it was cuz, well this celica had a bad past.... Meaning it's been crahsed. LOL A drunk driver ran into when it was parked. LOL But yeah... The paint job sucked on it, they were two shades of that tourquoist color, there was some huge clunk in the back when ya went over a bump. LOL The car was crap.... I hate ta say. I was close to buying it, but chances were I wouldn't have bought it, I woulda looked somewere else for a 6 gen celi. And then, yeah... I found my car a little later, and everything turned out good. biggrin.gif

Your celica is much MUCH prettier than the one I looked at, trust me! biggrin.gif The one I was looking at, looks a lot more different (color wise) now that I think about it. Your celi has that neat deep tourquist, but not so dark-color.... This one, 2 diferent shades of lighter tourquoist....

You know whats crazy, before I bought my celica, I was trying to buy a astro cargo van so I could haul my bike to the car shows. I got the loan through my works credit union for the van. Well the guy bought over the van, and I tried to test fit my bike in it.....it didn't fit. Well i always wanted the 5th gen vert celica, so a look in the autotrader I saw a 6th gen convertible. Once I saw it in person, I knew it was me. The lady at the credit union was extremely pissed off, because she had done the paperwork for the van. My car had a cracked convertible frame(very expensive). I think the last owner forgot to latch the top and it flew up at speed. To my luck I saw one on ebay for alot cheaper biggrin.gif . You never see them on ebay! So like the rest of you, I love my car and its the best thing thats happened to me in a while......besides my ex-girlriend moving out in July!!

astro cargo van

eww. not an astro, but yeah they are good for space etc. or maybe not if you bike did not fit. anyway I bet the bank was mad, did they charge you any fee's for the sudden change. kinda funny, you almost bought a car to fit your bike but when it did not, you ended up getting a car that has no chance of fiting a bike in the first place, and ended up happliy every after
