I noticed that one sub was hitting fine and the other one did nothing, a friend i have that knows all his crap took it apart with me and said it was garbage..wired it to the sub that was working and still got nothing. I sent it back to rockford but the guy that sold it to me told me that the warranty might not even matter...that, it could be my fault therefore voiding it? I've had these things in my car for no more than four months and they are never even turned up loud..what gives? If they don't replace it im gonna raise hell. mad.gif

Chances are that they won't replace them, because how do they know that you didn't push them hard or have more watts running to them then they're rated at? Tons and tons of people blow subs, and manufacturers hardly ever replace them.

What kind of subs were they, how many watts RMS do they handle, and how many watts RMS were you pushing to them? Also, what was the amp that was powering them?

Sounds a lot like me. I have my gains way down and my crossover is set to about 80 hz. Do you have any sound deadener in your car?

Anyways, good luck with the whole situation. smile.gif

i have a similiar problem
my amp went nuts
it's a phoenix gold tantrum 600.4 and thats expensive equipement for a student!!!!
now it's at the shop to be repaired... they couldn't say what it will cost yet...
they will fix it for maximum half of its price...
i hope they stay way under that!

depending on those costs and my holiday job i have new plans for this summer:
using this amp for my composet
getting an adire brahma smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif
and a new amp to power it...
maybe something soundstream or another tantrum (if it works with the brahma...) idunno yet

don't knock on Rockford, they have the second loudest setup in a car in the world. Their stuff is good, it's probably my friends or my fault somehow.

The only thing I have against Rockford is that all of their stuff(Like a few other car audio companies) seems very overpriced.

Let us know if you get a response from Rockford.

I didn't take anything you said personal, i just got Rockford stuff because i heard great stuff about it, and it was good for the price.

Your friend that has the two 12s and the 1001bd probably wired his stuff wrong, which could easily make it blow the subs if you turn it up even remotely loud. The BD is a one channel amp and it wouldn't take much if wired wrong to fry it.. I'm guessing it's supposed to be wired "in line" but i don't know all that much. I know i just keep the Hz and gain down at about halfway because all that bump isn't needed...it is nice to have tho isn't it... biggrin.gif

im sorry to tell you this man but the problem isn't with the warranty but the company of rockford, they make terrible products on their low end

2nd loudest set up in the world?

who has the first loudest?
i would have to say the owner of stereo town the shop here in sioux city.

i was in his chevy s10 today. he has 4 jl audio w7s...2 2250 planet audio amps...6 2 farad capacitors...and omg...i have never heard anything louder ever in my whole life. except for when the space shuttle launched. he as 2 digital guages below his deck..one is voltage and one is spl. today he showed me it for the first time. and holy SHIAT. it was like 172 or so. it seemed like he barely had it up...seriously...tomorrow i will post some pics for all yall haters.

i have to say that the 12w7 from JL is the best sub out there. the clarity of the sub is so amazing. compared to a rockford, jl wins hands down. imo rockford sucks
