I have it wired up to an isolater so it charges both batteries but never drains from my main one.

No it charges both like is only charging one. The isolater charges both batteries like it is only charging one. It is a nice thing to have. You can watch movies all day and still be able to drive your car. biggrin.gif

My brother has two in his civic, but thats only because he has air compressors for his bag's.. and it helps alot, cause it can run when its off, an never effects his alt or engine, and thats a smaller alt an engine.

Why do you need a second battery? Only usefullness ive ever seen from it is when the 2nd battery powers a winch or something. If your having power issues beef up your alt and get a stronger cranking battery. otherwise the two batteries (being completely different batteries obviously) will just drain each other (if their connected at a common point on both + and -... Even at that if your alt's stock your prolly making the poor thing full field itself all the time or damn near close to it. poor idea in my opinion. Go percocet!

You need a second battery to run everything else you have put in your car, like stereo, neons, TV, playstation. My lights don't flicker at all when my stereo is all the way up. It doesn't put any strain on my alt I don't just have them connected I have it running through an isolater which charges both batteries just not as fast, and doesnt put any strain on my alt.

sounds like a nice setup, i was looking at a 13 W7 the other day at a shop, she's pretty big, but why two 12"s and a 10" why not three 12"s or three 10"s?. also adding another battery will not help if you dont have a high output alt. to run all of this, them W7's will need power to perform well. you DEFINATELY need a high output alt. for this.

yup me too Freddy, this second battery wont do any good if he doesnt get a high output alt like i said, he wont be able to run them W7's good unless he is puttin ATLEAST 500rms to each... and if he does that, with all that other stuff. he will need a highout put alt, of 140amps+ . then the second battery can be used, for your stereo, while the other is for the car. otherwise going down the road your alt will fry and your car could catch on fire..
