I have an electric oil pressure gauge that came with a sender. If any of you have these they are quite big and heavy. I am using a tee on the stock pressure sensor location, but i dont want to mount the pressure sender on the tee in fear that it will break the tee due to vibration. So ive bought some tubing and fitting so i can locate the the sender somehwere else.
My question is for all of you who have done the same as above, where did you mount the pressure sender in the bay and how? Did you just run a wire to ground the end somewhere? Pictures would help if possible. This post has been edited by orvillescelica: Dec 8, 2004 - 2:52 AM -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

you did a good thing by not trying to mount the 2 to a Tee. mr2 guys report problems when running such a setup.
for my oil gauge, i just ditched the factory sender and replaced it with the new one, no problems so far. i plan to hook up the 2 senders sometime in the future tho, just to have the idiot light working again. this is probably the best thing ive seen for mounting the 2 senders... http://www.42draftdesigns.com/product/42004.htm -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

BUt my question is, where would you mount that on the sidewall?? I cant find any space where it wont rattle around or hit something. Any more insights? -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

no clue, since i didnt buy that yet...but you can always get creative with some black zipties and attach it to something close by.

If you're worried about rattling, get some rubber washers or something and some bolts that won't thread through the mounting holes, and put the bolt through the hole, through the washer(s), and into a solid part of the car, then tighten the bolts down.
