I just read this article in Import Racer about the Zex Dry Nitrous System and this injector air amplifier. The injector is just a Zex cone filter with a spot at the top to attach the dry nitrous nozzle instead of having to drill a hole in the side of an intake pipe. I'm reading this how-to-article and it looks like it has to be the easiest. The cone just then fits onto your intake. The nitrous is activated when you have the throttle wide open which i think is perfect. This is like a turbo anytime you want it and takes a few hours to hook up the systems with its NMU (nitrous managment unit). The new air amplifier helps air flow too and doesn't require drilling into your intake to place the injector. This has to be the easiest power upgrade for the claimed 55, 65, or 75 hp gains depending on injector choice. I wanted to know what you all thought of it cause I need some power increase on the ol' 7AFE.

well thanks to the 7afe superlow compresion ratio nitrous would be a good way to get power if use the right way. it wouldn't do as much damnage as most people think.

nitrous does no damage if you run like a 45 shot or something. I still say we could hook up a supercharger somehow and be in good shape.

I think it's been said and quoted many times before that you can take a 76 shot of dry nitrous on the 5sfe with stock internals and no damage as long as it's at WOT, so I'm thinking the numbers will be similar for the 7afe...not exactly sure though.

yeah, it adds about the same power as a turbo, except the turbo is always there and doesnt only work for 14 seconds at a time a few times

as for the low CR on the 7afe, i think its around 9.5(or something like that) it is one reason why the engine has little power but it helps with other mods

Yea, compression on the 7a and 5s are 9.5-1. BUT, I will also say this. A 75 shot of nitrous is reccomended for Larger displacement engines. 75 is the most you can run on say.... a corvette without having to replace the fuel pump with a higher performance one. Anything over 50 on a 7a is pushing it on my opinion. 75 is suicide.

i think the 7afe has and 8.0:1 comprestion i could be wrong someone tell me if i am. but anyway a 40 shot should be safe as long the nitrous system is set up the right way.

not really. Read. That much nitrouse will blow your engine away. Did you read that thread a while back about how funny it would be to see a piston shoot out of the hood? you could make our dream come true.

ok you guys I've been running the zex kit for about 2 years now...and I just found out (if true still investigating) that our engines don't have a fuel return line, therefore no fuel pressure regulator, there for no fuel vacum controller thingy... that the zex nitrous system needs to be hooked up..even though I've ran 2 years and still safe I know my engine is slowly dying cuz since there is no additional fuel being added I'm running sooooo lean...of course I could be wrong the information about our FPR is what I got from this forum...so someone wanna help me and figure this out I'm calling Zex today...oh and at www.arimport.com in the members ride section you can see a clear photo of how I have it hooked up but don't go by it, its lasted for 2 year with no probs but the vacum line which is the middle black tube I think its hooked up worng damn stupid speed shops with no knowledge

oh and for the air filter dry thingy...I think that is jsut a waste of nitrous...I mean it vaporizes pretty quick and by the time it goes from the filter to the throttle body to the engine you already lost alot of nitrous thats why the injection nozzle has a lil hole that you have to point toward the throttle body some peopel even drill it and put it right on the edge of the TB I don't know though up to you thats just what I think I already waste so much on the 90 % show/10 percent go purge kit why loose more nitrous through the intake

how is it 90% show w/ a purge kit and only 10% go? If you didn't have that purge kit to bleed your lines of air bubbles before sprayin', you'd have 90% time fixing your motor, and 10% driving. if anything, you have 90% go and 10% show.

Exactly. I'd never have nitrous without a purge kit. You can have some problems.
