I curently have a woodgrain kit on the center consol (pics in profile). I want to paint it a red color.
The question is would it be a good idea to paint over it? Maybe use a white or some light color to cover the wood a little then go over it with a few coats (3-4) of red paint from wal-mart. Then final clear coat? Do you guys think the wood grain would show? I don't think so, but I just want to have more opinions. |

If you're going to try, definitely use primer over the woodgrain before paint.

QUOTE(Bigmeanbulldog55 @ Dec 13, 2004 - 1:02 AM) I like the wood grain. I just sugest being careful about what your doing, it could turn out ugly. Don't be a ricer man. How is it rice? My definition of rice is bigass wings, fancy bodykits, stickers of companies that you don't parts from on your car, and some flame vynels. Or cheap parts that makes there car look or sound fast but isn't. Believe me I'm anti-rice except for my muffler, but soon to be getting pipes. I don't see how painting your interior is considered rice. Its just like painting your brake calipers whatever color to match with the car. Just as long as its done right its not rice. Why don't you tell me what of a ricer is? This post has been edited by hs2g: Dec 12, 2004 - 11:08 PM |

hmm I dunno if Iwear you I would buy a set of black ones off the forums cause woodgrain isn't that common (maybe someone would swap you?) that way you know it won't be a big deal to paint them

Thats a good idea sinester, but one, I only have wood for the middle console and around the transmission piece, and 2, I don't want to have the hassle of sipping and recieving.
I'll try it out and maybe it would look good maybe it won't, but the i'll get a new one if it doesn't work. |
