Since I got the my celica gt it seems to have flat spots in 1st and 3rd under 3000rpm then theres a high burst of power ! Is this the norm or can anyone surgest how to mend this problem? Thinking of changing sparks leads and using some injector cleaner will this help? Also installed k&n induction kit this seems to have only made it worse! Please help! confused.gif

I think a tune-up might help. I know it helped my '88 Celica a lot. It used to always kind of stutter and seem dull below 3,000 RPM and then it picked up, but now it only does that when it's cold and is fine once warm. smile.gif

You may feel this sensation if you have a leaking vacuum hose or perhaps a bad o2 sensor

The 135 hp doesn't have anything to do with his power loss. The GT engine isn't too bad at the low RPM's but I would agree that it comes to life around 3000 RPM's, thats when the car gets ready for the power band. Like Coomer suggested, I would get a tune up (spark plugs, cap and rotor, plug wires, etc...) and see if that makes any difference. Also you may want to replace your fuel filter cuz that could be the cause of fuel restriction.

dude for 130hp (here in CA) the car picks up pretty fast and has pretty good power delivery up to 80mph and then it starts to run out of horses

wink.gif sry im a little dense just never experienced the power of a 3s-gte, going back to topic... yea a tune up probably would do a world of good. after changing my fuel filter and various fluids and got a nice tune up my celi felt more responsive, but then again it might just be me

"You get nothing" as in, you barely get much power? Or pressing the pedal has no effect whatsoever until it's been held for 1-2 seconds, or what? More details will help. wink.gif

Also, turn off the caps lock.

that could be 1/2 a dozen things, clogged injectors, faulty pump, poor sparks, distributor...

I bet it has something to do with your fuel delivery, whether it be pump, filter, or injectors. I would suggest running some fuel system cleaner through on your next FULL gas tank. See how that treats you.
