Hey does anyone have any performance comparisons between a 7afte and other toyota engines used in celicas??? I would be interested to see how well the 7afte does against a 4age 20 valve or a 4agze or even the 3sgte's... Will the 7afte beat a 4age 20 valve in a quarter mile???

probably good contender for the 4a and possibly the 4a SC but the 3s will wipe the floor with it.

A 7AFTE at modest boost levels (6-8 psi) will be about par with a 4AGZE overdriven to 8-10psi. The 20V doesn't make enough torque to hang with a 7AFTE or 4AGZE in the 1/4 mile... but it'll probably take them on the track...

Nik and his turbo 7A-FE isn't too far from me. wink.gif

Would be an interesting race on the track sometime. I still don't know what I could run with this car. And I hope to have it sold soon, so maybe the buyer can race their local 7A-FTE. smile.gif

I don't think you'd have a problem taking out most 7A-FTEs with a 4A-GZE running 15 PSI.

I think you'll win. biggrin.gif

How much boost are you running now? And does your car have any problems? I saw some blue smoke when we were cruising and I was behind you at the Tri Cities meet. wink.gif

Haha, yeah, I think you'll take me at 7 PSI...you never know though. I'm sure that off the line you'll beat me, but once I hit about 4,000 RPM in first the car pulls very well until I let off. But I still don't think I'll win. tongue.gif

Yeah, if I kept it, I'd keep it N/A, convert to standalone, and run velocity stacks. Then I could imagine winning. But that just won't happen. wink.gif

Playr, do you realize that with a 4A-GZE you have to change pulleys and belts to change boost levels? wink.gif

Maybe he thought he had a 4A-GE, but it was the 4A-FE or something. Or maybe he just really couldn't drive. tongue.gif

Where's St. Lucia?

lol it is a blacktop 4age and the fuel pump isnt making enough pressure so when u rev it hard it drops the revs before picking up slowly. St. Lucia is below Martinique, above st. vincent and to the left of barbados in the Caribbean. 14N, 61.5W.

I can imagine without anyone telling u exactly what dimension pulley's to use, figuring out sizes for amount of boost would be incredibly difficult without wasting money and testing out different variations... I could be wrong though...
