make SURE you get an 86 or 87 ecu as well- those are the ones that make 160 ps... 88 and 89 JDM 3S-GE's only make 140 ps.

That's interesting to know...I'd always heard that they were 160 PS(oops...I meant PS in my first post too. wink.gif) And I'd read sites where people say that their JDM '88 GT-Rs and '88 GTs have 160 PS. Where'd you hear the 140 PS from?

I got that info straight from the JDM factory brochures. Once 88 rolled around and the subtle redesign, they dropped in power for some reasom confused.gif

yeah... ya know it almost makes me think if it was a case of toyota overrating their engine again, like the 4A-GE. At about the same time the 4A-GE dropped from 130 ps. to 120ps... mabey the ecu wouldent be any help? frown.gif I dunno for sure about this but you might wanna do some reasearch before you find one to make sure that isnt the case....

Yeah, I know there's one guy running a JDM 3S-GE and JDM ECU in his USDM GT-S and he says it's way faster than his stock 3S-GE was before it died. And there's not many real differences between the two engines...what I hear is that the ECUs make all the difference.
