You'll excuse me from posting a quote from it, I'm on my crappy laptop with no keyboard and just a nubbin for a mouse

I checked that out

But...

The 77 GT liftback, like I'm interested in, isn't a SOHC, isn't 88HP, and isn't 2.2 liters.

Any other cites?

and no sean, I dont want to touch your nubbin

I'm aware, I found that one too. However, it seems like the guy isn't really a toyota fan and just put the site together. I dont think his information is correct. I searched for

1st gen Celica
1st generation Celica
MK1 Celica
71 Celica
76 Celica
77 Celica
1971 Celica
1976 Celica
1977 Celica

I didn't come up with anything as of yet that give me specs on the car

Thanks for the help though

this is THE site for production data and engine coles for first and second gen celicas
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/stepho/celprod.htm

First gen celicas are very different in terms of North American versions and JDM versions... Unfortunately its the one generation I lack a lot of info on, but i do know quite a few things. The basics of first gens goes somthing along the lines of this... There are 4 exterior trim levels and 7 different interior choices withing the first generation, JDM being the only one with all. ET, LT, ST, and GT (some were also GTV stripped down models uses as a basis for racing). US celicas we all ST trim level until 74, when we also got GT trim (75 onward ST's were labeld as ST but had JDM LT trim). Liftbacks were introduced mid-73 for the JDM market (no ET), 76 for us (GT only). All US Celicas used the R- series motor in one form or another for all years, 74 gt's added a 5 speed maual, latter becoming standard fare. JDM celicas had many motor choices, 1400, 1600, 2000, 1600 twin cam, and 2000 twin cam... Thats about all I know off the top of my head, i think top dog JDM models made up to 140 hp with the 2000 twin cam...
