you will need:

1 linear actuator
2 limit switches
1 relay (if not built into actuator)
1 SPDT switch
1 track for the monitor to follow
1 monitor and various wires.

then you'll need to come up with the design that you like and then go from there with the fabrication. a simple wiring diagram can be made if needed.

illegal and dangerous?

but i was thinking if i sacrafice my glove compartment, buy molding that into just a hollow box, ya know what i mean? then i can mount the xbox in there also, and cut a slit in the front and a button for the power, also so the cd tray slids straight out the glove box without seeing the xbox...

Passenger side airbags are not required and are not illegal to disable. It is only illegal to have a monitor on while driving if it's within the drivers field of view.

If a cop sees the monitor within your view, he can pull you over. I now have 2 for the headrest and 1 coming out of my stereo. i was going to do the passenger sunvisor, but after losing my license for a year....and still driving dont want to attract alot of attention if you know what i mean!

And even then, if the monitor displays navigation information or any of that stuff, it's not illegal- how I get away with mine

its only illegal if u are actually watching TV, chances of ever getting pulled over for that is pretty rare. i dont personally know anyone that has.. if my passenger is playing XBox or something, it is not illegal.

But the question was, any ideas on designing a mount that i want...
