ok you're gonna need a tiny screwdriver and a piece of clear plastic in the color you want the clock to be.
start by taking off the the trim around the around the shifter and radio. unplug the plugs in the clock and take the two little screws out. the clock should pop right out. seperate the front and back of the clock. careful not to lose the buttons. take the amber piece of plastic out and replace it with the colored plastic of your choice. (i used that clear sticky bookcover stuff and stuck it right to the clock face.) put back together an enjoy.

somebody probably took it out already to make the clock white. just tape a colored piece of plastic over the clock display and put it back together.

Snap**** your an idiot.....dont be like the rest, hes said he looked. so he did search. Maybe not as well as u or i but he did. Get off his back, and if he gets flamed so what...

Anyway, there should be a plastic piece in the light, idk whats up with yours but u need to remove that to change the color. U can use the tab to a folder...like the ones in filing cabinets. Where u put like "bills" and u chuck all those kinds of things in...there all clear or semi translucent. Ur gonna wanna get one of those.

that's funny...clock experts READ THIS!!!

. . . so i took my clock out of my car, un-screwed it...etc, and it seems that my clock is digital...meaning it is glowing green screen...and i can't find any other form of light/green tabs etc...to me it looks impossible?

. . . do you suggest putting a the blue tab over the screen?

. . . looking forward to your suggestions . . . i could also be doing something stupid in the un-install . . . like missing where there is a light sourse other than the screen . . .

post your thoughts!!

thanks a lot,

OK guys this is easy. here are some pics from ArizonaRed

user posted image

^^ the clock on the left side (the digital part and the COVER that has the brown/amber lense)

^^ this is a picture of the finished product (NOTE THE AMBER LENSE RIGHT NEXT TO THE CLOCK, THAT IS WHAT YOU REMOVE)

every clock has the same amber lense, sorry to sound like a jerk, but this is easy stuff and you should be able to do this easily.

also, note that all of these pics I just put up are from a post in the sticky !!!!!!

thanks dustin. . .

btw, here is the post he was talking about . . . a "how-to" under another title . . .

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=22617

will post pics when done!

EDIT: You are not really changing the color of the light. . .you're changing the color of the "outside cover" (it's kinda brownish) . . . i was making it harder than it is!!! as you can see . . . very simple!

PS: i would think mixing lets say: the stock green w/blue or red would make a weird color?

yea your right snap, it does produce kind of a weird color...you have to add some extra colors. Like to make mine blue, i had to add two blue pieces and one purple, and i think i put the purple piece next to the clock, then the two blues after that...I suppose if you wanted a genuine red you might add a purple or orange or something that could contribute...

I'll add this, if u cut the third wire (man it was long time ago since i did this) atleast i think third wire. It'll stay bright all the time even when u turn your headlamps on.

I did this to my clock, key ring, and cigarette lighter last night and unfortunately the blue material I used was too thin. kindasad.gif I'm just going to redo the keyring and cigarette lighter with blue 74 bulbs instead, but I've yet to redo the clock. It's only kinda blue right now, but I think that can be fixed with a few more layers of the material I used.

Did you guys use the thicker folder tabs or something similar?
