QUOTE I know the ST205 GT4 hood and bumper fits but I need someone to confirm that the ST185 version will fit. If yes, do you need the bumper like you do for the ST205? Thanks for your replies.

Cuz I suck at quoting, here's my second post. My first just said hello, and nice site.
"Yeah I want to mod it. I don't have any big plans as of yet. I looked into the 3s-gte swap, and it seems like it could cost up to $4-5k. As of now I think I'm going to order a Greddy SP exhaust for it (anyone know how it sounds?) and get some Tein coilcovers after winter. " lol, went with an hks exhuast and tom's springs on 2 busted struts and 2 decent struts. lol, I never made ricer/n00b postz, I amz da king -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

When the site was first launched and people registered, there were no forums. I was thinking ahead to the day when we'd eventually have a forum, and so from the start I installed the forum software and integrated the site's registration system into the forum software's members table. That explains why many people are registered earlier than some of the earliest posts. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I hate newbies! Just kidding. I usually don't bash on newbies, unless your trying to paint your stock hood black to mimic carbon or a big alum wing on your celica!

QUOTE(Kwanza) Interesting numbers... Curious how with those simple mods...minus the 65 shot you can push over 110 hp at the wheels... meaning you're getting better than 140-150 at the crank... that's 30-40 hp over stock. Geez... from a 7A!? On my old 94 ST, I ran low 15's and can hit high 14's back when I was shooting a 75 shot... but my other engine mods were more extreme. Port Polish head (valves, seats, retainers, everything), CAI, 2.25 exhaust w/ free-flow cat, ASP underdrive pulley, modified hp headers, and SAFC. Running all motor... I only managed high 15's...even low 16's . On a dyno... heh...with nos I'd venture a guess around 170-180 whp. Without Nitrious... well, 100 whp or so. But I say again...my mods are somewhat more extreme than yours... and that motor eventually blew a head gasket and fried the internals. It was a 5speed... My current ST... a 95 only runs mid 16's with CAI, Exhaust, and Underdrive pulley...for now. All I need to do is find someone that makes custom exhaust manifolds and have them do a 7A turbo manifold for me. After that, I can custom fab almost all of the plumbing for a turbo kit. Either way, interesting numbers. I do have a friend who ran a 14.1 with is 3200lb Honda Prelude Vtech, shooting a 75 shot with an Auto tranny... so I'm not totally doubting you... just skeptical... I have timeslips of all of my runs somewhere... so I do have proof. I was a newb too... but I always knew cars. Better now than then... but yeah... =P -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

QUOTE(FallenHero @ Dec 29, 2002 - 9:44 PM) How do you get the shifter off on an auto? I took out the little screws, but it just came up about an inch. Then I unbolted everything down to the shift indicator thing and cannot get the shifter out. I have an Aluminum interior kit, and cannot get the last piece in because I cannot get the freaking shifter out! Ahh the olden days lol, I love looking at old posts JON on how to save money to spend on your car "Work and slave, slave and work, And, do NOTHING for yourself. No clothes, no shoes, no nothing. I eat lunch at McDonalds every day for four bucks. Why there? because it's the cheapest place I can find. Also, if you can find some 60+ year old fat ladies to sell your body to, it works out great. smile.gif? JON being a noob there was one guy I was talking to that said he got the 4age clip for about $1000. that's like wow, but he said it only put down like 140hp at the wheels. I know I know, 140 on a 2400 pund car is great, but I wan't to destroy all. I want at least 200 at the wheels. Also, if you want the agze, just go to http://www.adelaidejap.com.au/toyota.htm they claim to have em. (destroy all??? lol.) JON on electronic superchargers " Have you ever seen the pump that pulls water out of a washing machine? That's what it looks like. You know, with some thought, that's a good concept. If you could find a way not to use so much power. I wonder if you used an audio lightening cap and had a toggle switch to turn it on and off for special occasions how it would work. How much pressure did it claime to put out?" Lastly... I thought toysport was the greatest ever, lol "If you are looking to upgrade a 4age just go to toysport. They have EVERYTHING for them." |

QUOTE I paid 11,800 after all california tax and licence about 8 months ago. 97 GT, fully loaded except ABS and leather. I had to replace the clutch in the first month, and my tires are pretty bald. Car just needed some general maintnance but otherwise in good condition. had 100k miles though :-/ I guess thats an alright price. Could prolly get 11k max out of it with luck That was my first post, in a topic of how much you payed for your celica. QUOTE I keep getting contradicting info. One site says the engine will not meet smog, and yet people have swapped the engine into US Celica's. I Live in California where all the regulations are the strictest, is it legal to swap in the 3s-gte or not? QUOTE is it possible to make the 3rd gen 3s-gte smog legal or not? I also heard that it would take some work making a 2nd gen smog legal also... What I heard is that an EGR would be really hard to add because the engine would need recasting in certain areas, and a 2nd gen would be smog legal but only for 93 smog specs, not 97 like my car is... The guy I talked to about all this said that in his 74 toyota the engine head was cracked or something and he went to a junkyard and got a 73 head, but 74 was the first year an egr was added... therefore he had nowhere to put the egr plugs. He said he just put some holes or something and made it look like the egr was made to fit. Would this be possible with a 3rd gen? 2 posts in a thread I started about the legality of a 3s-gte, from April 2003. |
