as it says guys, i drove a 86 or 87 RX-7 and fell in love with it on the spot.
The odometer reads 142,000 but the car itself is in decent shape for its age, the engine looked nice and clean, and sounded great, know wierd noises, real smooth. i drove it and OMG, it was fun, no power steering made it more precise, no electronic controls, RWD, it drifts beautifully. Now the guy wants 1,500 for it and i like it so im thinking about it, but i would really like your opinions as long as they are constructive... BTW, should the motor fail one day, how expensive is it to rebuild the rotary? |

Rotaries fail. There aren't many ways around that... I've gone through a couple myself... The seals just aren't good enough. Umm... IMO, not quite worthwhile in the long run, but they do make nice "fun" cars.

I liked my FC3S, but it was turbo. If you want it go for it, but they can be a bit high-maintainence.

If you aren't going to do them yourself and learn about engine rebuild, or apex seal replacement, it will cost you a lot. But so much power..

lol 95celgt apex seals are a necessary part of the engine. You will want to do some deffinite research before you look into buy an RX7. They break a lot and the engines need work all of the time. Unless you have a lot of time and money I wouldn't go for a RX7 stick with the celi, that seems like something you can do.

lol, my bad, cause i was on the RX forums and some dude put "APEXi" seals, so i thought thats what you all meant:P.
As for the celi im keeping it, and i still have the pristine 67' camaro for V8 power. i just want the FC so i can have a project car that I can personalize the way I want it. I want to Paint it myself, reuphoster and repaint the entire int. ETC. Going to school now, later. |
