Does ne one here have gotten any major work done due to just wear on the engine and how many miles didu ahve on the car.

Personally i haven't changed a damn thing but the oil, plugs, wire, air filter and battery on my car since i got it 'bout 3 years ago.

I believe I was told a celica will last 200k with no major problems if not raced. Then about 160 if raced often.

If you have an MT the transmission tends to be a bit tempramental, i had to have mine redone at 70K but i think thats just b/c the previous owner didnt know how to drive one...

184k on a 95 ST, gears are worn(grind too easily), engine is in awesome shape, body needs paint, and seats need to be replaced.

I've had this car for 4 years, and have spent maybe 3k on it(including 4 sets of good tires and a clutch).

I have a major problem with mine!........Basically my valves are messed up....it sounds like a diesel....and its louder than my exhaust! Its not toyota's fault but my own.......I over raced it with out checking the oil and...well you can hear me comin from a mile away......yes its that loud! Anyone know how much to replace or fix the valves (maybe change the whole valve assembly)?!? Í can't drive it without fear of blowing up the engine!

Not sure how much it will cost on the Celica, but I did the same thing with an 88 Hyundai Excel(first car). It cost me about $1200 to get it rolling again. That was for new rocker arms and a couple of valves.
